I couldn't read this story. Can't do it anymore. However, I am pleased this one had a happy ending and want to thank you for posting it.
I fantasize about doing to animal abusers the same thing they do to animals. Then going home and talking a long, peaceful, satisfying nap.

We've had dog(s) the entire 53+ years of our marriage. The past two have been from official rescue organizations. Before that, all were "rescued" from folks who were either giving them away or didn't want them anymore. One, a beautiful Cocker Spanial had been terribly abused. Sally was deaf from being beaten. She spent many years with us, taking amost a year to get used to me since I was a male... and a male had been the abuser. Below is a picture of Angel who we adopted just a year ago. She is a mix, mostly Jack Russel Terrorist. The JRT is mixed with a little Corrupt Chihuahua. Annual physical earlier this week. A very healthy bundle of energy. She had been found as a starved stray puppy. 9 pounds when we adopted. 18 pounds, now, and the vet says she is not overweight. Just needed to beef up some from a rough start at life. Can't understand how people can be cruel to dogs, any animals, or any people. I have a tremendous amount of patience... until it comes to someone who treats dogs bad. Those folks should be made to suffer the same punishment they have meted out on the defenseless animals.
