So good to see jaila back And on the attack In an attempt to win this rhyming game And have "Champion" preceding her name!
Was so cold, here, this morning as we are seeing a weather change. So cold, it felt like I was standing by the kitchen range! The sun finally came out and it got exceedingly dark Eerily, as the darkness spread the cats began to bark!
As I turned on the television I let out a loud and noisy sneeze. All of a sudden, the local weather lady began speaking Japanese! I flipped through the channels and every one was the very same. About that time, I heard the meteorologist calling my name!
My feeble old memory cannot recall every meeting the lady in the past So as she called to me through the screen, I was left aghast! When I tried to answer her it was obvious the lady could not hear. Her lack of hearing was cured when I put a hearing aid in my ear.
She was switching between Japanese, Spanish, and French with almost every other word When all of a sudden, she began chirping and singing just like an angry Bluebird. The nervousness increased as the house began to shake... pictures began falling off the wall. About that time someone was calling my name from clear down the hall.
The television switched off and much to my surprise The weather lady was coming toward me with fire in her eyes! Frozen in fear, I just stood there as the windows in the home began to snap. She walked right up to me as I stood stoic and she game my face a very hard slap!
"Wake up, Honey, you are having a dream!" my loving wife was speaking to me. As my eyes came open, I looked at the clock and it was so easy to see That in your dreams reality is not present, it can take a leave When reality is 2old will be first to post last on New Years Eve!!!!

But will we be certain when the correct date arrives? OR, will we be too distracted by bees surrounding their hives? Will I sleep through the New Year, or be awake for a week? Will I be hiding under a blanket, or take a timely peek? Will I notice my clock, and chime in here, in time? To write the year's one and only, final years end rhyme? I dont know the answer, so will have to wait and see. Who will be first to post last, and how things will be.....

Well look who's back And on the attack! You'd think in this competition she is ahead Probably posting rhymes from her backyard "she-shed"!
Now I must see if the mind can still rhyme Or if it has lost that ability over all this long time. A cold front has just passed and the temperatures have dropped. I just hope the cold air my rhyming has not stopped.
We're about 70 days from the end of this year And out of the darkness competitors will jeer. They will appear in droves, hundreds may begin to post Hoping they can win as towards 2021 we coast.
Well let it be known, shouted from the rooftops far and wide That from the efforts of 2old, there is no place to hide. I am the Mighty... the Magnificent One! As far as this competition, 2old has won!
But keep the posts and rhymes flowing until New Years Eve. Keep working to defeat me, never taking leave. Let the words flow, use your communication skills so very vast Even though it's 2old who will be first to post last!!

Confidence is a worthy trait; But is Over-confidence a sort of bait?
Gosh, 70 days from the end, of the year 2020.
And some will say we've had more than plenty.
And we'll be ready to move on, and hope for better times,
when people will seek common ground, and leave some anger behind.
I didnt intend to get philosophical, because there's no rhyme that's topical, So I'll continue instead, to seek jam and bread.
I will need snacks, to stand on line, when the New Year comes nigh. It's the price to pay for being the outstanding last, the gal or the guy.....
Don't forget to turn the clocks back, later this week, If it's on time to appointments, that you dearly seek.
Or definitely turn them, before the last day of the year. So you can all give my winning a great CHEER!

Spring forward! Fall back! Careful! Don't step on the sidewalk crack! So much lighter when we awake Dark in the afternoon, for Goodness sake!
Days are getting shorter, minute by minute, hour by hour. The lack of daylight turns my mood to very, very dour. Winter will come and winter will pass, as it is known to do. By that time, 2old will have won... defeated all of you!!!
Cannot predict what the winter will bring. As far as weather goes... cannot predict anything! Things are changing, weather wise, seems more and more as the years fly past. I fear these constant changes won't end well... leaving us aghast!
A community in our State recorded the lowest temperature in history for October, this week. So arid and dry in 2020, for just some rain and moisture we all do seek. A year ago, we were recovering from flood waters raging wild Some of the most erratic weather cycles I've seen since I was a child.
Worries me about future generations and how these changes will them affect. Currently it seems those in power don't pay attention... just deflect. The only difference I can make is to cast votes for those I believe are best To meet the challenges of tomorrow and, today, do their very best!
Ouch! How the heck did I get off on weather and climate and such? In Forum Games I attempt to stay away from serious issues so much. As these old fingers begin typing, I sometimes have to go back and read what they write Hoping the fingers aren't saying things too serious or what might cause a fight!
They're just out of control, I tell you! The fingers fly before the brain can engage! I talk to them... chastise them... sometimes shouting in a rage! But the 10 of them just ignore me and continue flying across the keys! They seem content to keep getting me in trouble and they do it with ease!!
So, I need to sign off so these out-of-control fingers I can put in 'time out'! For it is obvious they pay no attention at all when, to them, I rage and I shout! Once they understand the rules we all... all ten of them and I... must abide by I will return to always be first to post last as 2021 continues do draw nigh!!

Hello to 2old, and to anyone else here, who listens,
Isn't it amazing, how very clean dishes glisten?
I know that's irrelevant and random and such, but I am unable to think about much.
Fingers don't listen and neither do legs.... how to cope best, my mind sometimes begs....
Yet, I have missed coming here recently, and interacting a bit, So here on your virtual sofa I will sit; And let you know I am okay and hope you are as well!!!!
And how we've all gotten thru this year, is more than I can tell.
But I hope we're okay, and onward will try to go, Otherwise who will be first to be last.... HOW WOULD we ever know?????

As I sit here on the bench, typing from the spa I see we have a posting from the lady, jai-la. The sweat is beading up as the steam increases heat. This spa feels so good to a body that is beat.
The towel is wrapped around me collecting the moisture I perspire I can honestly feel the fat leaving as it reduces my "spare tire"! Hopefully, I can sit here in this steam for at least an hour Then move to the locker room and take a nice cold shower.
Shucks! I just realized it was difficult to find a word that rhymes with jai-la So, I imagined I was relaxing in a steam bath... enjoying my time at the spa. I'm actually sitting in my recliner in our home where it is ever, ever so cold. The frost is forming on our windows... inside the house I'm told.
I must go cut some firewood and find some tinder that will help those logs to ignite. Will I be able to keep from freezing? I must bundle up very, very tight! On with the sweaters and on with the coats hoping they will protect me from the cold Where are my insulated coveralls? When we had our last garage sale, they must have been sold!
Okay, I've stretched the truth and I must begin to confess Life, here, is very comfortable and we are certainly not in distress. Our temps have been very moderate... not too cold and not too hot. It has been perfect golf weather and, for November, playing quite a lot.
I've never been in a steam bath in my life and I don't plan on going to one. The days have been getting shorter as we do see less of the sun. But, life is good up here in Kansas... we've had about a perfect Fall. And, 'down under' it's Spring if I do recall.
I hope you all down there are having excellent weather to enjoy. Up here I must admit, there is one single thought that I employ. That thought is emboldened as the end of this year is approaching fast And as we near the celebration of 2old being first on TRF to post last!!!

Thanks for that effort, to find words that rhyme with Jaila,
With winter coming on here, I get paila and paila.
I cant get a tan while indoors by the heatah,
But on a chilly day, the heatah you can't beatah.
Yikes, now see what you've started, Don't blame it on me. I am simply joining in, As you can ealily see!
I had a dream, the other night, I just had to tell here,
That I'd awoken in late January to find I had NOT been here,
For the last of the year, to compete or to win.
The winner had already won, And New Years had begun!
I thought it so funny that I'd dreamed such a dream. I wanted to share that laugh with you and this team!

Hours... Hours upon hours I must venture to say I've spent exercising, sweating, and working so hard just today! Ten miles on the treadmill according to the device. Trying to lose 10 pounds as that would be nice.
Of course I'm fibbing, no treadmill in the house. The dog and I are in our recliner, quiet as a mouse. Had fresh baked banana bread, compliments of my wife Followed by some M&M's, certainly to extend my life!
I did have some fresh veggies, cucumbers and a green pepper slice. Those 'green things' were accompanied by a sandwich that tasted nice. My eating habits wouldn't be classified as "healthy", I sincerely doubt. Annual physical in a few weeks and then I'll find out.
Each morning I play golf which gets me some exercise, I attest. When it comes to driving distance, of the group I'm the best. It is my short game... my putting that needs lots of work. Can't keep me from giving the putter a left or right jerk.
My wife and a friend of hers just left to go walking. I imagine that exercise involves lots of talking. I'm not advised of the conversations they enjoy upon end. The lady is a widow and has a new boyfriend!!!
She's just turned eighty and he's eighty one. It's good to see her able to live life and have some fun. They were classmates in high school many years ago And seem to be good for each other from what little I know.
Enough about exercise and widow ladies entertaining boyfriends. I'm getting very close to find the place where this senseless rhyme ends. Still missing Weezer and her rhymes, but so glad jaila is playing this game!!! She just needs to remember 2old will be first to post last and garner the fame!!!

Goodness, that widow has plenty to do, And we'll let your wife figure out, with who. You should stick with your golf and your other pastimes, such as running from turkeys and stopping on dimes. If you get too busy and forget about this game, the result of my winning will be the same. I too miss the others who did play along, could they be tempted back by a dance or a song? I guess not, so patient we will be, Even as long as it's just you and me. Perhaps someone will join us again, on any fine day. We'd roll out the welcome mat, but not offer any pay. To anyone who leaves a comment, in rhyme or not. A Welcome would be johnny-on-the-spot! Some frosts on some mornings, but no snowfall here yet. I wonder how much we will or will not get. Before the year comes to a 2020 end. And 2021 comes round the bend.... It feels good to come by here, and see a friend. With a smile or laugh, to share and to lend.

Wow! This thread is clear back on the third page. Way too many games for someone to play at this age! How do they expect me to get anything done... when I've nothing to do So, I'll just start here and a new rhyme will ensue.
I'm a mountain climber, one of the best You'll find no better from east coast to west. No hill or no bluff is unconquerable by me I've climbed Kilimanjaro and have pictures for you to see.
Mt. Everest was not bad, hardly a challenge at all Climbed to the very peak, never fearing a fall. With rope and hooks and a pack full off granola bars I slept in the snow so much closer to the stars.
I've trained with the best... and trained the best too. If you want, I'll share my training methods with you. Each day I will make at least two trips from basement to main floor. Every day I try to get at least 10,000 steps... or a few more.
My biceps are kept strong by the recliner lever on my chair. Flexibility is assured by reaching high to brush my own hair. To assure the ability to grasp a climbing rope and pull myself high I play golf and grip those clubs so tight they give out a cry.
To be honest, I haven't climbed any mountains for I am afraid of tall heights. You'll never catch me on the Empire State Building to look at the sites. An eight foot step ladder is more elevation than I really like to see Getting on the roof to clean gutters scares the heck out of me!
On construction sites for years, tried to stay close to the ground. Worked many, many days down in excavations where cave-ins could abound. Never bothered me to go up and down those deep banks to see the work being done But having to crawl up on a roof was never very much fun!
Before we get to 2021, there is one mountain I must climb. With that challenge I will put an end to this rhyme. That mountain isn't very high and I'll climb it extremely fast. Yes! No one will climb faster than 2old who will be first to post last!!!

There's an extreme difficulty with climbing a tall mountain, I have found;
There's only one long difficult path to get down.
So I agree it's best to stay on level footing, and gaze all around; And today there was something to see on the ground.
This morning we had our first snowfall, and pretty it was. On top of wilting, fading grasses, there was the white fuzz.
At mid-day it melted, and disappeared in the rain. So perhaps it had snowed all in vain.
Twas a pretty sight, for the short while, though, And right now I must not stay long, but rather go....
It's near bedtime for me. Just wanted you to see.
That I will still drop by to say hello to you and to all. Looking forward to our New Years Ball.

There's no rhyme, today, in this old head! Losing that ability is something I dread. Just can't get it together to post prose today. I'm a failure at writing! What else can I say!
I'll never be as famous as Edgar Allen Poe. Can't read Shakespeare for it is boring and slow. The thou's and the o'er's and the calling people 'Sire' Are far from the writing and prose that I do desire.
Today's writing seems more realistic with an "ain't" tossed in Or references to y'all when describing those we call kin. The English of yore has evolved to the mishmash of today And if you use 'proper' English no one knows what you say!
Just here on this forum, we see some good folks from "Down Under". The way they spell words makes me sit here and wonder How the same language, supposedly, can be so different from place to place Knowing we would be even more confused if talking face to face!
In America, the use of English can be questionable from here to there. Our relatives in Minnesota talk so 'funny' when we visit, I swear! Nor'easteners have an accent far different from those down South. Get them together and one wonders if it's English coming out of their mouth!
So many in our history have immigrated and learned to speak English once they arrive. Sometimes we have trouble understanding them no matter how hard we do strive. What I have learned about colloquial differences in speech as I have traveled Is something that over my years the riddle I have unraveled.
No matter the places that we go or the people we meet, far or near There are good people most everywhere, that fact becomes clear! We have to look for the good and not dwell on the bad Even though 2old will be first to post last... and make the other competitors very, very mad!!!

I hate to agree, but as great a poet as you are,
Neither of us could compare to Edgar Allen Poe, by far!
I loved his spooky imagery , told in exciting wordings so unique; From a young age, I learned that prose or poetic language can't be beat.
I was always amazed by how words told a tale, And then utilizing words, you could send sentiments, on paper in the mail.
Using words to express how we feel and what we think, Is better than washing all the dishes in the sink!
So don't worry, everyone, however you post, just use some words, and we'll appreciate it the most!
I cannot guarantee whose post will be first to be last, when this difficult year comes to an end , at last. But let's wait and see, and meanwhile, hope for the best, For 2old, and myself, and for ALL of the rest!

Arose this morning just as the day was beginning to dawn. Opened the blinds and looked out on the lawn. There sat a rabbit and it gave me a scare It's fur glowed neon orange, bright as a road flare!
As he seemed to sense me and began my way to look His eyes were bright red! I trembled and I shook! Long fang-like teeth that belonged on a wolf and not on a hare Were glistening white and gave me a scare!
I noticed the fangs were red, dripping with blood to the ground And the rabbit sat there in a pool of blood all around. My phone slipped from my hands and fell to the floor Before I could call for help, the rabbit let go with a hair-raising roar.
My ears heard sirens approaching... still some blocks to the south Just as the rabbit bared all its teeth and opened its mouth. What is this creature? I've never seen anything like it before. Quickly I made sure all locks were secured on every single door.
Returning to the window the rabbit no longer was on the lawn Where was this monster? Where had he gone? The flashing lights of the patrol car approached at high speed. Suddenly the rabbit appeared... in the street the patrol car to impede.
I'm sure the squeal of tires was heard many blocks clear across town As the officer hit the brakes, the patrol car to slow down. Instead of moving, the rabbit remained in the street And soon we heard the impact as car and rabbit did meet.
As impact was made the police car became airborne, flipping end over end. Still sitting in the street was that neon glowing rabbit, my friend! It was a sickening sound as the police car hit the ground and dust flew My hope was that the officer escaped injury, but that was not something I knew.
The officer could be seen slowly crawling from the bent and damaged automobile. Once free of the wreck, in the middle of the street the injured officer laid still. Hop by hop, the rabbit began moving in the direction of the pile of steel You could see his eyes flashing, as I knew the officer's fate he would seal.
Two more police cars were coming down the street at high rates of speed. Surely, they could dispatch this murderous rabbit... a job of great need! As the cars came to a stop, the officers exited with their guns drawn The sun was just rising and I could see the rabbit was gone.
Nowhere could my eyes see the rabbit or the glow from its hair. I looked and looked and the rabbit was not seen anywhere. Then a shuffle of feet and an orange glow coming down our hall... and coming fast! I better say goodbye, for I may not survive to win and be first to post last!!
