One of our cats, Cocoa, has trouble digesting her food. It comes right back up. We found out some cats have digestive problems with iron. I googled cat food without iron but never got an answer. Was wondering if anybody had the same problem and if you found a solution. She's an outdoor cat that comes inside in the Winter. Very spooked but will tolerate us when it's bitter cold. She's a senior cat and we don't want to spook her by trapping her and taking her to the vet. We did that once with another outside cat, Snowball, she was always scratching at her mouth. We told them to take care of her first so we could pick her up and bring her home right away. They didn't. They found her dead in that stinking cage! So, a trip to the vet isn't an option. Thanks for your help and advice.

I know the pet shops sell food for cats with sensitive stomachs. Our last cat is an indoor cat. She is on special food from the vets for kidney stones. She was a stray who walked in and I told her you are never walking out. She loves my dh.

What brand are you feeding Cocoa now? Canned? Dry? Both?
The only cat food I feed my cats is Fancy Feast, both wet & dry. No paté; they dislike it. If I try and give them a different brand than FF, they throw it right up. I did check the ingredients on the FF I have in my house and I don't see any iron supplement in any of it. Cats don't drink enough water either so it's always good to give them canned food along side the dry food to get that moisture into their system.

I know animals have to sometimes have special diets just like people do. Interesting!

Thank you for your replies.
They eat Fancy Feast canned and dry. Every now and then they get Temptation Cat Treats. The canned food I buy from the Vet is expensive and honestly it looks like Rival dog food. That was one of the only dog foods around when I was a child. They won't eat it and I can't blame them. I've been told, "If they're hungry enough they'll eat it." My pets, like me, deserve to enjoy their food. I won't force feed them to eat something they hate. If it's good for their body and bad for their soul, no thanks. Pet food companies make a lot of money off people like me, so come up with something they like.
I tried Delectables. It's creamy and comes in a packet. Also BIG bucks for a little food but they love it and it stays down. I started mixing it with the FF and so far, so good. I have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed. lol.

I posted this quote on the General board but it's so good it deserves a second post!
Have a happy holiday and happy everyday to all of you!

I was told by the Vet that Fancy Feast is like feeding them candy. Mine gets both wet and dry food. BirdGirl seems that you found your answer.
