I'm doing intermittent fasting all this week, in pursuit of facilitating autophagy, and also to stimulate production of HGH for my muscle building goal.

Sounds dangerous tnthomas . Have you consulted with your PCP about this? Not at all dangerous, but I understand that "fasting" sounds spooky. Consider this : let's say you have dinner at 6PM, and don't eat until breakfast at 6 AM. Not unusual, but that is the first 12 hours of a fast. My fasts go 18 hours mostly.
So in my case, I have a 5 hour window where I lift weights and do circuit training that is being enhanced by the increase in HGH. I'm getting 2 hours of increased Autophagy benefit, more should I decide to take it to 24hours, which I believe would not be a problem, as hunger is not present after my workout. As usual, drinking plenty of water is advisable. I feel better than average when I'm on fast, mentally and physically on top of my game during workout. I have not consulted my physician, but I would not consider doing this had I not done considerable research. I would not be interested in longer fasts(24+ hours) as I do like to eat!

I would not be interested in longer fasts(24+ hours) as I do like to eat! I like to eat too. One would say that I 'live to eat'. lol. I have such a high metabolism (always have) that caloric intake is not a concern in my case. I eat to maintain body weight and consume just about everything that doesn't move.
My next question would be about what portion(s) are consumed? I would hope that you are not over indulging but rather eating protein enriched nutrients to replace that which is lost during your workout sessions.

tnt: I like your posts and what you are doing and have no concern about what you are doing...talk to the doc? I can see their stare look on their faces..
Trouble with most in the U.S. too much food consumption.
I probably fast 15 hrs give or take daily from when I stop eating at night 7PM or so to when I start the next day....10AM or so.

I try to eat at least 150g of protein a day, to rebuild my body with muscle. My weight loss was hard won, I'll not allow re-gaining fat,but I expect the scale to go up by 15lb.s, provided my muscle building efforts are on target.

My Yoga teacher introduced me to the idea of fasting to promote HGH production, enhance Autophagy and Keto dieting. She is very knowledgeable on nutrition, both conventional and beyond, I jokingly think of her(to myself) as our group's coven leader/ witch-priestess. Her nutrition suggestions are all on solid ground.

That makes sense to me. And I love IF, have done it since long before I ever heard of it. The body has all kinds of self-repair processes that modern medicine doesn't know about. Ancient people fasted -- maybe they had an intuitive sense of the benefits.

Be careful, lack of food is not good. Nkat I don't think anyone has proven that. Maybe the digestive system needs to rest sometimes. Mine does.
