I've been going to the gym or as it is called...The Box, now for just over a year. I will call it more of a cross training than the focus on CrossFit.
My balance is better [it was never bad], my strength has improved greatly. Bone density has increased, blood pressure decreased, resting heart rate decreased. Endurance increased. Blood test numbers all better than the past several years. I haven't changed up what I eat, I am staying with our regular norm of various foods.
Attitude? Cheered up even while caring for my husband and some rather difficult times.
I'm feeling pretty darned good. In much better shape than my young friends and I am swiftly approaching 64. My weight has shifted from a slightly softer shape to the same weight with nothing jiggling around.
I'm not younger. I still see that weather worn face in the mirror. But dang it is nice to see some very large changes in my mental/physical health from doing some training in a group and with a coach.
My wrist and hand arthritis are actually much better too. I can do TWO handstands before the wrist tells me to stop!
Our coach and Box will accommodate anyone with any ability and modify all workouts for them.
Oh. Most importantly? I've made friends and get a social life for a couple hours a few times a week!
You all have a great week!
