I think it also has a lot to do visual. To people listening on the radio, Nixon beat Kennedy in a debate, but those watching it on TV said Kennedy won. There is nothing charasmatic about Trump, so what does your comment mean? Nixon had no charisma either. Cold and callous.

There is nothing charasmatic about Trump, so what does your comment mean? Nixon had no charisma either. Cold and callous. Kennedy had charisma that people saw on tv and said that he won the debate. People who listened thought that Nixon won since they could not see the two men. They judged it on content only. I remember that debate and thought that Kennedy won, was a kid and liked his looks! Reagan had some charisma, daddy Bush maybe some but can't think of other GOPers with charisma.

trump knew about using the visual to his advantage. By pacing behind Clinton during the debate, he probably figured she wouldn't put him in his place. She came across as weak and undecided voters felt he could intimidate foreign leaders better than she could. I thought he was vulgar, scummy, and out of line. I also thought she should have gotten in his face and handed him the family jewels.

He was a vulgar scum and a bully when he lurked in back of her like that. He still is.
But, I didn't think she looked weak by ignoring him. I thought she did the right thing. Pretend he wasn't even there. Ignore him. I thought she looked strong and he looked like a fool, a jerk, a weakling.
He wanted to disrupt her and she held her own. She gave him nothing.
If every vote counted instead of the electoral votes she would be the president now by a landslide.
He didn't have charisma then and he doesn't have it now. He's a thug, a bully, a weak man, a coward.
A national disgrace.

Do not confuse charisma with charm. Even though they look similar there is a huge difference.
The difference between charm and charisma is not a degree of kind, but kinds themselves. The essence of charm is the desire and knowledge of how to please others, whereas charisma is having unusual confidence in oneself. While the charmer seduces the immediate individual, the charismatic seduces on a mass level.

I don't now, nor will I ever believe we still have fair elections. Everything can be hacked and fixed especially electronic voting machines.
I don't have any faith in the electoral college, everyone can be bought, nor do I even see the need for it.
Why bother standing on long lines if your vote or 3 million other votes don't count anyway? I'd rather go shopping. I've voted in every election on every level since I was 18.
I'm 74 and this is the first time I don't have any faith that it's truly fair or honest.
Money changes everything. Everything!

I don't think the jerk in the WH has charm or charisma. He's a carnival barker telling fearful knee jerk people the boogy man is coming to get them and he's dressed as 4 young and brilliant women.
His supporters are more despicable than he is. If other countries believe those cheering him on is what America is all about we have lost all creditabilly. We are seen as a bunch of fools. Idiots. Losers.

Losers. Sad story.... When Ziyi and I were in Taiwan, her family was just amazed at the way the president acted and said things. They said we must be blind to not see that he is a criminal! We nodded and told them that he had the backing of an entire political party (GOP) They just adore him.... Ziyi's mom shook her head and said that being under such a leader makes the whole country look stupid.... sadly..... she's right.... America has lost it's once prestige in the world.... When I travel overseas and meet with my counterparts in various countries, many of whom are good friends ask me.... how can you stand working for such a idiot? sigh....Never in my career has it been as embarrassing as it has been under this Administration....

people confuse being a demagogue with charisma.i tend to feel better with less boisterous candidates.most don't.maybe that is why i've been on the losing side much of the time, but not always .lol

Trump is frightening. I think he sees this whole thing as a way to make MONEY and charm people into believing his lies. He is directing the Greatest Farce Show on Earth. Please...I hope we find someone to replace him !
