I know I promised to post more often here, however, My husband Mike suffered a Stoke and I have been busy. He is at home now, and fortunately he has regained the majority of his function and the Neurologist feels he will likely make a full recovery.. Right now he is taking it easy and getting used to a ton of new medications. He is also wearing a cardiac monitor for the next month. Doctors feel it was due to his fluctuation in blood pressure.. of course he was not taking his blood pressure meds.. Moral of the story.... TAKE YOUR MEDS..

I wondered where you were. That is horrible news about your husband but great news that he is improving. May each and every day find him stronger and getting back to normal.

QuickSilver, bad news that your husband had a stroke; a difficult time for both of you. I'm pleased that he's doing well, and can expect a full recovery.

He's doing better.. Today we actually went out ( I drove) We went to the post office and then to the grocery store.. He isn't walking as fast as he used to but he was steady on his feet and did fine.. We are back home and he is resting. I think it's important to try to resume life as normally as possible and to try to get back into a familiar routine.. I think that emotionally he feels much better having been out... and learning that he could do it. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary and we are going out to dinner. That should be good for him.

Thank you all for your kind words.. Yes.. it's been difficult for me because I'm still in shock that this happened and haven't been able to wrap my head around it.. And one always sits and cringes at how much worse this could have been.. His first night home I woke up at 3am and had a full blown panic attack.. I haven't done that since, but I find that I have been hypervigilant regarding his every move.. I'm always looking for any signs or sequela of his stroke.. Is he talking different?... Acting different? Walking different? I watch and watch and watch and I'm making both of us crazy I fear.. Hoping this is just PTSD and will taper off.. BUT this proves my theory.. the worse things that happen are the things that are completely unexpected.. SOOOO.. one must worry about EVERYTHING and nothing bad will happen.. lol!

Sorry your husband has had a stroke. (Had to look up sequela.) I'm glad he got out of the house for awhile. I assume your anniversary dinner was enjoyable. I've had a couple of panic attacks in my life time and they are scary. I'm sending positive thoughts your way and hope you can relax a bit.
