This is a pair of blue wrens (the blue one is the male) They were fairly common in suburbia when I was a child. I haven't seen any for decades now. I miss them.

They are so pretty. I don't think we have those at all in North America. We have wrens, but they are grey. I always wanted to go to Australia to see the different birds and wildlife. They are called Fairywren by Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superb_fairywren

Yes, apparently they are a Western Australian species. It is so long since I have seen our eastern version that I did not recognise the difference.
