Good morning to all- I was sitting and drinking a big, cold iced-tea yesterday when a thought came to my mind. Just how much bad behavior and lying and cheating is too much when it comes to the present occupant of the White House? Would we the people have tolerated a fraction of the garbage we've dealt with since tRump took over the White House from any other politician? Can it be imagined that we'd have allowed any other "elected" official to be so stupid, so abusive, and so dangerous as we've had to deal with from tRump?
Can you imagine what would have happened if Bill Clinton had come with the background and the behavior of tRump? How about even Bush I and Bush II? We- those who love him and those who despise him- have had to listen to his mouth garbage and his vile attitudes and nasty behavior, and his horrible performance in a job he is so dreadfully incapable of doing.
We would never have tolerated this sort of behavior from anyone else- and yet, his supporters still feel he's a gift from god.
We can do better. Vote the bastards out in 2020.
good day to all- Ed

I suspect that he will have to be repudiated at the ballot box.

Voting the bastards out is only half the solution. We must remember to replace them with decent, competent, intelligent, honorable Americans who truly want to do the right thing. Unfortunately, many decent, competent, intelligent, honorable people don't want any part of politics because it is such a dirty business so good candidates are scarce.
Voters must do their homework and go beyond the ads, sound bites, promises and debate rhetoric and research the history of the candidates. What they have said or done in the past (prior to announcing) is a far better indication of what they will do if elected than the pretty words they say when running. It does no good if one bad elected official is replaced with another just as bad.

Unfortunately, 45 has many enablers in Congress who know he will do whatever they tell him to do. Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and their Republican cohorts are just as devious as trump. Half of our elected officials don't care about the people who voted for them. They just want to be able to make more money. It is so sad.

We don't have a voice or a choice anymore.
This is not your grandmother's America. We don't have a president, we have a dictator. We certainly don't have fair elections or thoughtful and reasonable voters. We have hateful and angry thugs who believe this country belongs to angry white men and nobody else. All others must be dealt with.
When we selected an obnoxious, indecent, inexperienced bully instead of a brilliant, seasoned politician, who was known worldwide, I knew we were doomed.
I don't believe he was elected. He was selected by our enemies who vowed years ago they would bury us without firing a shot because they wouldn't have to. We would be so dumbed down we'd destroy ourselves from the inside.
You can't fix stupid.

We do have a choice but too many of us choose to stay at home on election day instead of actually voting. Roughly 40% of eligible voters did not vote in 2016.

Just how much bad behavior and lying and cheating is too much when it comes to the present occupant of the White House? Compared to Trump, Richard Nixon was a honorable man. Actually Nixon had some honorable qualities: he served honorably as a U.S. Naval officer, and he had enough of a sense of honor to resign when it was "time" to.

Maybe if we went back to paper ballots, if election day was a legal holiday as in other civil countries so working people didn't have to wait on long lines either before or after work, or not vote because the polls are not open or already closed when they are off,and voting machines could not be hacked or fixed, maybe then those 40% more votes would have made a differencce. Maybe.

People should be marching in the streets for all the transgressions Trump and his administration have done against our country.
Even if we vote them out, it is going to take some time and taxpayer money for congress to repair the damage this imbecile has done.....what a freaking wasteful mess..

Sexual assault doesn't seem to be much of a big deal when it comes to this monster in the WH.
She's not your type? Really, 9th grader? No outrage, no how dare you accuse me of such a thing? Not even a "no comment?"
What a waste of flesh this pervert is!
Oh, she's your type Mr. Pervert. She's a woman!
Imagine the outrage and smelling salts being handed out to conservative republicans if this was Obama?
Oh, they will be marching in the streets, Kady. Praising him and accusing the victims of all kinds of BS.
It appears that Satan has taken over the evangicals and Christian right. Evil is a good thing and admired now.

Maybe. The methods by which we vote and the way our votes are counted is controlled by each individual state house and most of our state legislatures - they make voting rules - are controlled by Republicans. Why? Because the voter turnout for local/state and off-year elections is much, much worse than for 'important' elections. The privilege of voting is universal but the method of voting and how your vote is counted varies from state to state and the majority of our state legislatures are controlled by Republicans. Why? Because voter turnout for local/state/primaries/off-year elections is even lower than for 'important' elections such as for president or well known senators. Staunch Republicans vote in all elections and will vote for anyone on the ballot for anything from the local dog catcher to the president if that name is followed by (R). If Democrats don't like the way voting takes place in their state, then they must put Democrats back into their state's general assemblies.

That is true about the Republicans and voting. We need to be more like them.
Dems are too laid back. How's that working out for us?
