Name 5 reasons why you get out of bed every day.
To know, at this age, I've been given one more day to spend with a loving wife and family.
To move. I cannot imagine laying in bed all day and just rotting away. The body needs to move, no matter what hurts...how much it hurts...or what parts just don't seem to work well anymore.
To honor commitments I've made to complete my term on the golf course Board of Directors. 27 more days!!! Been a long, but good, six years.
Habit! I've climbed out of bed before 5 a.m. for many years. Once retired, that hasn't changed. Must have my morning coffee and usual breakfast of Honey Nut Cheerios! General Mills and Maxwell House would go out of business if I wasn't one of their major consumers!! :>)
And... I am a 77 year old male. By 4 or 5 a.m., the bladder is waking me for the second or third time and I figure I might as well just stay up!!!
(Oh! And, to make sure I catch up on TGF Forum Games!)

I would never want to life in the city because:
- houses are on top of each of other and I would feel closed in - everywhere is just too busy - roads, shops, parks etc. - too noisy - no decent views apart from next door neighbour's properties - air pollution
Same question.

(Our town is about 60,000. Not a metropolis by any means. I wouldn't want to live in the downtown area of a large city, but would live in a suburban area. So, I think of us being "citified"!)
I'm not one to like mowing grass, gardening, etc. Wife and I grew up on farms and neither enjoyed that life. Our small lawn is "too big"! :>)
Medical facilities are handy where we live. Some years ago live in a suburban area of Kansas City. Medical facilities were only blocks from where we lived.
Shopping is more available in cities than in rural area. Where we are, now, there's a large Kroger's grocery 2 blocks away. Walmart, Target, auto parts, hardware stores...nothing is more than 2 miles from us.
Access to emergency services. We have an excellent police force. Really do a good job and very community oriented. Fire service close. Ambulance housed about a half mile from us.
Seems we've always been blessed with good neighbors. Both areas we've lived in in this particular town, we've had neighborhood potlucks, etc. When I was working on the road, two neighbors always made sure wife's driveway was cleaned immediately after snows. Just enjoy visiting with the neighbors, having the neighborhood kids playing in our driveway, etc.

What 5 electrical appliances you think are a waste of money?
Toaster oven. Air fryer can do everything a toaster oven can and more. Electric can opener. Handy, but the old twist style does just as good of a job. Blender. New food processors have pretty well replaced the blender. Percolator or old "plug in" type coffee pots. Between the Mr. Coffee style or the Keurigs, the older ones take too much time. Any kitchen lights still having incandescent or florescent bulbs. Get everything in your kitchen changed of LED!

Name 5 board games you enjoy.
Scrabble Sorry Monopoly Clue Checkers
(Haven't played any board games except Scrabble for years. Daughters were here for Thanksgiving and we got the Super Scrabble out. Played two games. Super Scrabble has a bigger board and more tiles than regulation Scrabble. Takes quite a while to play a game.
Some years ago, a lady tried to get a Scrabble club together. Met at the local library. Daughter and I went. It was hinted we wouldn't fit in well. We have played lots of Scrabble over the years, know tricks to scoring well and can be a little "competitive".)
