scandal.
link"At the Vatican's insistence, U.S. Catholic bishops abruptly postponed plans Monday to vote on proposed new steps to address the clergy sex abuse crisis roiling the church. Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said he was told on the eve of the bishops' national meeting to delay action until after a Vatican-convened global meeting on sex abuse in February. "We are not ourselves happy about this," DiNardo told reporters in an unusual public display of frustration at a Vatican pronouncement. "We are working very hard to move to action — and we'll do it," he said. "I think people in the church have a right to be skeptical. I think they also have a right to be hopeful."
- Luis A. Torres Jr., clergy abuse survivor "You were not called to be CEOs ... You were not called to be princes. Be the priests that you were called to be. Please act now. Be better. Be good. " Pope Francis will do nothing about the sexual abuse scandal. He doesn't have the guts to do it. It is possible that he participated in this practice and doesn't want to be caught. Who knows what all goes on in the Catholic Church?

I'm not surprised. The Vatican can go to hell as far as I care.

And yet the Catholic church wonders why their flock is getting smaller and smaller.
I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out the pope is also a sexual abuser.
Imagine no religion?
What good does religion do for the world?
A woman who was my best friend since I was a teenager, I'm 73, continued to nag me about religion, even on her death bed! We could have had a wonderful friendship all those years. I was her maid of honor and the Godmother of her first born. When she got religion the friendship turned sour. Such a shame and a waste.
I most certainly can imagine no religion, John.
It's all about power, control, and money. IMHO, of course.

Might have told this story to you before, but an old friend contacted me on FaceBook a couple of years ago. We were close friends when our children were young. We met for lunch a couple of times. Then she started talking religion. I told her how I felt about religion, and how I no longer went to church. She kept pushing the Holy Spirit on me. When I told her that I did not want the H.S. to guide my life, she said we could no longer be friends. I was shocked, but am better off without her in my life. When we were friends all those years ago, we never talked about religion. I didn't even know she attended church. She also claimed to be worried about me going into the afterlife without a church/religion.

. She also claimed to be worried about me going into the afterlife without a church/religion. Yeah! That's what mine told me too. She said she didn't want to be in Heaven without me. I told her if she was there I'd rather be in Hell, thank you very much! It was such a stinking shame it had to come to that. This was a woman I spent so much time with. We worked together, we hung out all the time, I knew everybody in her family and she knew everyone in mine. We were Best Friends. We spent the holidays together. We knew each others good points and bad points. And what was the only thing that could destroy that strong bond? A silly belief system! We didn't have fun anymore. We didn't laugh. I dreaded being with her or even talking to her on the phone, because all she did was ramble on and on and on about her beliefs. Hello? I'm not interested. What part don't you understand? I already checked out many religions on my own. They all believed the same thing. They had the truth and all the others didn't. No thanks. I wasn't interested in loosing my family or any of my friends over a silly belief. Besides, I also don't believe in an after life. I believe this is it.
