Today I learned that my lack of faith in humanity has been somewhat lessened and renewed a bit.

TIL that during Prohibition, moonshiners would wear special "cow shoes." These shoes would leave hoofprints instead of footprints. This helped the distillers and smugglers evade police.

TIL-----that pumping hot air under the house using the blower on the wood burner can open frozen pipes within 30 minutes...even at 17` below zero. I think I'll just insulate the skirting on the outside next spring and skip all this drama next winter. Mobile homes can be just as sturdy and reliable as stick built designs but they do need additional reinforcement and protection from the elements. It's taken this city boy 25 years to learn this and other facts regarding rural housing. There are no lines for water or natural gas and even electricity can become unavailable...you need good bootstraps.

TIL that a cat makes a house a home. Had my sick cat put down Thursday and my house is so quiet. I miss his meowing which sometimes drove me nuts. Miss him greeting me when I walked in the front door. Miss his companionship. Teddy

A card reader still doesn't work if you get mad and keep swiping it like a lunatic In fact the little green ready light went out and 20 people were locked behind an area this morning... now they wanted to know who kept swiping the card reader...... ummm.....

At the head of the bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based on what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge...and which are turned away."

That is called the "Rainbow Bridge" which I first heard about several years ago on a chat board. It is a nice poem. It would be wonderful if it were true. I'd have at least 10 or more pets greeting me.
