First of all the author makes a point to support the Republican party line of tax cuts for the rich and gutting regulations on corporation. So right off the bat he's persona non grata with me. Second of all he is a gutless coward afraid to show his face. And number three I would not be surprised if this is all a lie made up by the corrupt DNC. However if it is someone in Trump's inner circle then I think Trump would be justified in hunting him down, dragging him out onto the White House lawn and dispatching him with a single 45 caliber pistol shot to the back of the head.

....I'm guessing it is the 'security group' and ex military.
Very interesting watching all this unfold, we're watching history, folks.

I don't believe you people. Making a hero out of this sneaky little backstabber. You people are so blinded by your Trump hate that you can't see beyond the surface. The only reason a right winger such as the author of this hit piece has to take down Trump is so that he can be replaced with another right winger with better manners who will then be better able to advance their caustic soul sucking right wing agenda. No wonder you Democrats lose all the time. It's so easy to con you.

Good morning to all- Gosh,Toby- I wish you would get a serious attitude and to the point about all of this. You see, statements like you just made are the kind of statements that make us limited gun access people think we may be on the right track. Vietnam era summary executions? Really?
Now, back to the real point here. Whoever this person is, outing the tRump for his insanity and potentially disastrous insanity is not treason. At last check, we still had freedom of speech here. But I do agree, the person should resign and tell the whole truth about the idiocy that lives in the White House.
And as far as the "surprising level of support" that tRump's supporters still show, even after all of the garbage he has said and done- that's not surprising at all. These hard-core tRump people would support him if he started rounding up folks and taking them away, never to be seen again. The one truthful thing he has said was his statement early in the campaign that "MY supporters would support me if I took a gun and shot someone dead in the street."
They would. They are fools, and tRump is the most dangerous man in the world right now.
good day to all- Ed

We are the Evil Empire constantly waging wars of imperialist aggression. And in that regard Trump has been arguably less dangerous. Both the Neo-Cons and the Neo-liberals have been pushing for war with Iran and North Korea. Not to mention their full court press to start another cold war with Russia. And if Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton had been elected they probably would have gotten their wish by now.

They are trying to tell us that they are saving us from this lunatic, while saving their jobs and the Republican's stronghold in congress....they took an oath to put the country first....they need to come forward with the truth as to what's going on. Makes one wonder who is running this country. Sure isn't the twitter-in-chief.
Sure, they need to come forward, but to whom? Nunes? He'd bury anything brought forth to him because he's so far up #45's arse.
When it was known that #45 directed Mattis to assassinate Bashar al-Assad, Congress should have acted immediately and investigated this. It's reprehensible that we have a do nothing congress.
November is coming...things really need to change!

If Republicans will not listen to Republicans in this administration..they need to go to TV news ....any and all news outlets they can....come out in the open and shout it to the rooftops.....for the American people to hear.

It's important to not allow Trump and his cronies to divert attention from the substance of the op-ed, which I find totally plausible. The mystery of who wrote it is unimportant at this juncture, just a diversionary tactic of Team Trump.
I believe the author used an intermediary to forward it on to the media outlet. Of course, the author quite sensibly wishes to remain anonymous, in order to stay in the White House where he or she can continue to keep an eye on Trump and try (along with others) to thwart some of his insanity, for the sake of the country and its democratic institutions.

the anonymous originator of the artcle maybe nore than one person in the cabinet and/or administration.perhaps they asked someone outside to write it.they surely knew what was going to happen.

I'm sure that's true, it's so hard to keep a secret among friends, can you imagine how hard it would be, if leaking the 'secret' could net a big corporation millions of $$ in profits?

If this is a true account of what happens in the WH, it is truly astounding but I have a few niggling doubts about it. If the anonymous writer is genuine, why leak this to the press? Surely that is a self defeating action. What might he/she/they be hoping to achieve? I can't see that this will make things any better. What do others think about this? Anonymous writer....a disgruntled worker that has been disciplined...could be.

Anonymous writer....a disgruntled worker that has been disciplined...could be. It's peculiar how some people dismiss reports from "disgruntled workers", assuming that the problem is with the worker. American colonists were certainly disgruntled with British rule...and they did something about it. But, until the Patriots
gained a better position, a great many expressed their grievances anonymously.
Read up on the Sons of Liberty for a better perspective on history, and how protest works in America.

And then, return to the more important drama of confirming a supreme court justice submitted by Trump...who thinks presidents are above the law. The republican congress is in no way comparable to the democratic congress...they've sold out completely. To act like there is no difference is foolish and plays into Trump's (small) hands.

I maintain my position that whomever wrote this is a gutless coward and I will have nothing but contempt for them and anyone else that operates in this manner.
As for the New York Times, I already had nothing but contempt for them for helping Bush sell the invasion of Iraq and aiding and abetting Clinton and the DNC in their theft of the nomination from Bernie. I wouldn't use that propaganda rag to line the bottom of a bird cage.
