Barack Obama set to hit the midterm campaign trail President Obama, after mostly staying out of the spotlight since leaving office, plans to campaign in coming weeks in California, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania — meaning there'll be a frequent fall contrast between Presidents 44 and 45. What to watch for: Look for other travel and more endorsements. During a speech in Illinois on Friday, Obama will preview top themes for the campaign trail. These include the importance of turning out to vote at this particular moment, especially given that Dems are notorious for sitting out during midterms or when Obama isn’t on the ballot. On Friday at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Obama will receive the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government and deliver remarks on the state of our democracy. Obama communications director Katie Hill said: "President Obama will offer new thoughts on this moment and what it requires from the American people." "He will echo his call to reject the rising strain of authoritarian politics and policies." "His post-presidency is the next chapter in the cause of his life — bringing people together to change the world for the better." Obama will also headline a fundraiser in New York City this month for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee (NDRC), which is chaired by Eric Holder, his former attorney general. www.axios.com/2018-midterm-elections-barack-obama-campaigning-b8a4f9cc-3966-4bbb-8682-d386f5837f96.html

I turned on MSNBC this morning, saw Vice President Biden in a Labor Day march in Pittsburgh. I don't tune in MSNBC much, but I should, their news reporting is uplifting and refreshing and gives me a good feeling.

Yes, I saw that too.....I like Joe Biden, I watched his tribute to McCain, I think he'd make a good president, but I'm afraid the age factor has got him. MSNBC...my favorite cable news....home of Rachel Maddow.

....I like Joe Biden, I watched his tribute to McCain, I think he'd make a good president, but I'm afraid the age factor has got him. I enjoy Biden. Agree that his age would be a detriment to him being electable. However...…… Had another staunch Trump supporter tell me "Trump tells it like it is! He doesn't mince words. That's the reason I like him." Well, if they want someone who says what he thinks... and has scruples... it's Joe Biden. He doesn't care whose toes he steps on. He bodes very well with active duty military and veterans. If he were 10 to 15 years younger, he'd be our next President!!!!

MSNBC...my favorite cable news....home of Rachel Maddow. Rachel Maddow is so on the mark, with her meticulous analysis and insight. If he were 10 to 15 years younger, he'd be our next President!!!! Yea, that's a problem. <sigh>
