The Trump administration announced that the federal workforce will NOT be receiving their scheduled cost of living (COLA) increase. The reason cited? The rising deficit! Wow! Bet no one saw this coming.

Bet no one saw this coming. Typical government actions. I do not agree with the cuts. The workers making the big bucks ...like over 80k a year do not need a increase but lower income workers do need and should get their COLA increase. And then there is this thing about people that are doing a good job should be paid more than a person that is not...but with many government agencies it about seniority...that does not lead to better production..does it?

Tell that to the supper rich companies that got a tax cut? They did not need the increase.
If companies do not make more then inflation year over year. They go bankrupt. If workers do it that good business???

I don't agree with the tax cuts either. Does that mean you would be satisfied to never receive a cost of living increase on your social security? Please explain your logic to me why a person that has seniority should not receive better benefits than a person that just started at a company. Everyone starts at the bottom and works their way up the ladder.

80k a year is a good living in some parts of the US and not so good in others.
If tramp keeps pushing up inflation, Not one will be able to live on 80k.
Tramp think the worker should be Slaves at their job to get a small hand out.
It is classical management think, they want CONTROL of the Slaves. Giving the slaves they like more.(the brown noses) and working the others into the ground.

Sure glad that Trump had said he would not collect the salary for being POTUS, maybe there was the realization somewhere deep down that he wouldn't be doing what could be referred to as a "good job".

I think this is wishful thinking, The Boss always think they can walk on water, it's those people around him that just can't do what he wants them to. They just need to work harder and smarter.

Bet no one saw this coming. Let's see, this translates into over 2 million less votes for tRump in 2020, another 'win' for the people!

No problemo for me. It just affects federal civilian employees. My son's military cola is safe.
Let's be honest here. The overwhelming majority of these employees voted for Clinton. Just look at the election returns from DC and norther Virginia. So Trump is punishing Clinton voters, and as a Bernie Bro I hate Clinton voters just as much, or more than I hate Trump voters. Actually I hate them more.
Most of these Federal Employees are boomers who managed to get into their fat cat government gigs while the getting was good. So this doesn't hurt Bernie millennial's much at all since most of them missed the window for the good jobs and are slaving away in low wage service sector gigs.
And just like Trump isn't going to touch the military's COLA's, he isn't going to touch my Social Security Cola either. Why? Because the over 65 Demographic is also a reliable part of his voter base. So even though I didn't vote for him, many of my over 65 peers such as oldmontana did. So, in effect, oldmontana is my human shield.

How much you want to bet Congress and Senate get a pay increase.. After all,, they have the power to vote themselves a pay increase,,, even if they do nothing to deserve it. Infact, in my opinion, they should take a pay cut until they show they actually work for US. Of course hell will have to freeze over first.
