Good afternoon to all- Interesting. I believe that the chickens may be coming home to roost as far as the vile, corrupt, depraved tRump and his future in government goes. Good. There's no one on earth who more deserves a long drop and a short rope, politically speaking, than tRump. But I hope impeachment is not the way it goes. With tRump gone, Pence would be in the pilot's seat, and that could be in no way good. He's just as vile as tRump, but he's more capable of inflicting damage than tRump. tRump should be- and let's be honest, he already has been- placed under de facto "house arrest" and his fat a$$ should be confined to his private golf palace where he can stew and go farther senile and demented without doing more damage to us. Let him tweet until his little bitty tweeter falls off. Look at it already- the repubs are doing nothing to further tRump's agenda. They know in their black little hard hearts that his spouting and noise is wrong and they don't want to be part of it. Of course, they don't have the cojones to oppose him, either, and for that they deserve and richly deserve to be sent packing and do a little a$$ sitting on their own.
What we need to rectify our sick system: 1. Term limits- 3 terms max. 2. No former elected official can serve as lobbyist for 15 years after leaving office.
This would help, I do believe. Some of these elected people are so far removed from real life, they can't even imagine what life is like without their privileged positions. Lord, what times we live in! good afternoon to all- Ed

Ed, I agree. Impeachment is NOT the answer. If Trump is removed from office his base will become violent and unmanageable. Pence would be emboldened by them and push a far right wing agenda through Congress. The best alternative is to turn one or both houses of Congress in November. If we could turn the House of Representatives, much of Trump's shenanigans could be stopped in their tracks. Yes, he would still Tweet. People would begin understanding just how deranged he is and turn the White House back "blue" in 2020. To impeach an idol of the redneck masses would bring them out in force in 2020.
If in office until January 2021, Trump will bankrupt most of his business enterprise. He may well be sued for divorce while in office. His kids will begin to understand how deranged he is and know that if they don't take over the daily management of his businesses they won't have the proverbial pot to pee in... after living lives of luxury. We need him castrated of power, not become a sacrificial lamb to enrage his base.

Limiting terms is a double edged sword, it might shorten the time for those whose purpose is to "abuse the system" can do so, but it will also prevent the genuinely talented and honest
law makers from being present to effect their positive influence. More oversight on campaign contributions and limiting corporate influence might be a better route.

That's how I picture him during "executive time" on the floor having a hissy fit when he doesn't like what he's seeing on the news.

Lord, what times we live in! good afternoon to all- Ed I strongly believe that term limits would be a great help in curbing at least some of the corruption. I'd limit the Senate to 2 terms (12 years) and the House to 6 terms (12 years).

I dunno, it seems that the longer they are entrenched, the worse they get. I agree on the campaign contributions oversight, and that Citizens United v. FEC case did a lot of damage, IMO.

California's Senator Dianne Feinstein has been fighting to good fight since 1992; with a reduction in term limits the 'good guys' would also be blocked.
Think: "throwing the baby out with the bath water."
