I'm ashamed that my country has come to this. I'm ashamed that the animosity that has grown over the past few decades has brought us to a place where something like this could happen.

“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” Wilkinson said. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive. This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.” I'm sure it was an uneasy situation, but I applaud her for standing up for standards of decency. Too bad Sarah Sanders doesn't have that type of class and character.

I have ZERO problem with the restaurant owner doing this; in fact I applaud her for doing this. I'm sorry that we've come to this place, but when we have a Supreme Court that apparently sanctions bias against a group of people based on their sexual preference, the restaurant owner is well within her rights to refuse to serve this contemptible person, who claims to be a Christian. Trump has encouraged this environment, so be it. I hope she's a pariah everywhere she goes. I hope when Trump exits the office that she's relegated to the dustbin history for the lying, hostile person she is. Bravo to the restaurant owner. It cannot have been easy. She may pay a heavy price, but at least the restaurant will be a safe haven from the Trump psychos.

We need more Stephanie Wilkinsons around......good for her.
It may be a shame that our country has come to this, but if we all lay down and play dead the end results and shame will be on us.

Has there ever been another administration whose employees have been confronted on the street? I read where DHS has put out a security memo to all 200,00 of its employees instructing them on how to remain safe in the face of this administrations abuses. Things such as not wearing your badge out of the office, keeping knowledge of your employer on the down low, maintaining a high level of vigilance at all times.
I love that these troglodytes cannot hide and their pitiful mantra of, "I was only following policy" is called out and shamed for the spineless cowards that they are.
Conversly I read where trump has a 90% approval rating from republicans. Where the Hell are we living?

I must say, I have mixed feelings about this. If John McCain or Obama were to be refused service based on their political views how would we feel. I do realize Sander's party is abominable, but, still, I'm just not sure if I'm comfortable with this idea. Is it much different than people using their religious views to deny others rights to services, when they find certain acts to be an abomination. I just have to think on this one some more, I'm not convinced this is such a good idea.

It will be interesting to see if someone would do it to one of Trump's kids, like Ivanka or Don Jr. or Eric. I definitely think Sessions has to be on the list, definitely Betsy Devoss and the reprehensible Scott Pruitt.

rosa427 , you are right to have reservations about giving the Repubs a "taste of their own medicine". I would love nothing better than to take the High Road in political matters, but there
doesn't seem to be any appreciation of that, from those on the other side of the aisle; to them taking the high road is a sign of weakness, and their bully tenancies take over. I wish to God
it wasn't so...
Retaliation rarely settles an issue, and usually makes things worse. But Sarah Sanders needs an 'eye opening' somehow, and I'm glad that the restaurant owner stepped up for that, and
did so in support of her employees.

I wish I could see it as just giving the republicans a taste of their own medicine, I don't. I see it as being hypocritical and behaving in a way that is no better. How is banning someone who is just out to have a meal doing any good to a cause it just separates us even more. I don't find this empowering in the least. To me it's no better than if I walked into a restaurant and someone denied me service because of my race. I know there are places where people would like to not serve me, but, we all protest such behavior, I'm just not seeing where doing such things is okay because we don't like someone's politics. What's next signs in window, republicans, democrats, independent, liberals, conservatives, not welcome here, take your business elsewhere. This to me sets a bad president. I don't like where this type of scenario can lead to. Sanders already is aware she isn't liked by many, the people who need to let her know what she is doing is abhorrent are those of her party. So the more I think on this, the more I disapprove.

She is the voice of our government, a source of official information. The fact that she lies is not an opinion or conjecture. I would say that anyone who conducts themselves in such a fashion doe not deserve the respect an honest person does. The proprietor of the Red Hen obviously feels disrespected and insulted by this woman's CHOSEN avocation, and decided not to honor a liar.
