I haven't posted much here, but I've been busy taking care of the farm and hubby...and managing MIL's affairs. It has been a horrible juggling act, but I am soon turning over care of MIL to a court guardian. Charlie came at just the right moment. Our hearts were heavy when Morris died. MIL fell and was admitted to the hospital, my husband was having a bad time dealing with what we now feel is the early stages of Vascular Dementia [to be confirmed next week with test results]. It is common to develop this after a stroke... Anyway he brings JOY to the house. He watches over my husband. If GG drops a shoe or sounds like he needs help, Charlie is bounding to the rescue. He even demonstrates the proper way to nap. Which he is very good at... Believe it or not, Charlie does chores with me each day in rain or shine, he is fine with getting wet and dirty. And since he is small, he is an easy clean up! He also will sit on the couch next to hubby and keep him company. Charlie was truly meant to come to us!

You certainly have a 'full plate' of responsibilities, louie. The picture of sleeping Charlie is simply too precious for words.

Charlie is a cutie pie and he has even pleased the heart of MIL who doesn't like dogs. She said she'd love to have him! LOL, that was huge! I think he'd make an excellent pet therapy dog, though there are no places around here to take him for us to train together.

Charlie is SO cute! How old is he and how did you find him? Dogs are wonderful -- I don't think I could live without one.

Charlie just had a new batch of siblings yesterday. The owner had so many requests for more Charlies that she did one last breeding.

Hi Louie,
I know your area has been hit by heavy flooding this year. Baraboo, near us, is now dealing with flood stage conditions. I say "near us" meaning 30 miles south and far more vulnerable to floods. Tonight (and all week for that matter) SW Wi. is being inundated. Coupled with all the other hassles confronting you is the weather...how are you?

Hi Louie,

Tonight (and all week for that matter) SW Wi. is being inundated. Coupled with all the other hassles confronting you is the weather...how are you? Sorry for not responding, it has been a very busy month. During the flooding we were fine, however we couldn't GO anywhere due to closed roads. At one point we had 65 roads closed around us including major highways in every direction. The water has not let up and we still have closed roads. The Kickapoo River has not been kind this year to many folks. I was able to set up TeleHealth through the VA system to have my husband continue with Speech Therapy and Psychologist counseling. Thank you for asking.

Dogs are just amazing. Some of the things they do are just astounding. I suspect they are much better friends to us than some of us are to them.
