Louis CK, I never heard of him but he is funny. I don't think I've ever seen a race-based comedy routine on this angle.

In spite of the events that ruined CK, I was a huge fan, I've seen this routine before. Having said that, I wouldn't trade places though in spite of how things are, well maybe if I had to go back past a certain point below the 70's and had to live in the south. Plus, I'd never want to have been a man, except for that whole peeing thing, that would sure come in handy when I go camping.

Google American Guidebook Series sponsored by the WPA. I started looking at them to see if any attractions from that bygone era still existed. Maybe this is old news to some, but me being a Northeastern Cracker Hillbilly was absolutely floored. The descriptions of the Southern towns and cities had actual enforced boundaries, where blacks could not cross during certain hours days, and where they were made to live. Interestingly enough I read of several towns that were given over to the Black population for purposes of trading and conducting their business, usually Saturday mornings.
If you want your eyes opened to the ugly America take a look at some of these guides on line. Looks to me that underneath the undercurrent is the same, we have just put a coat of varnish on it.

When you drive around Mobile Alabama it's pretty obvious where the infrastructure money gets spent. The roads in the white and business areas are fairly well maintained. The roads in the poorer black areas are all beat up and full of pot holes.

Way back in the 80s I saw an ad in Bass Pro Shops catalog for an "appliance" a woman could use, for peeing standing up. One of the inmates in OITNB came up with the same device, she thought she was the first to invent it.

Unfortunately, I was made aware of racism at a very young age by my mega racist father. To give the devil his due, he wasn't just biased against black people, he was biased against multiple races and cultures - Jews, Italians, Hispanics; the only ones he didn't routinely bad mouth were the Japanese He was so bad, he pretty much turned me against such rampant racism and anti cultural-ism. I married a husband who was very biased against Hispanics and American Indians. It presented a real challenge to bring up four kids who rejected the idea of racism.

Racism is flourishing well in our Nation's Capital.... Much against Mexican people like Rebecca and very much against my people, the Chinese and African Americans and other minorities .... No sure why this is so ugly in last year or so.... Easy to blame Trump but Trump no hold a gun to people's heads to make them racist... They were racist way before Trump.... I think now they just more bold because of him and people he surround himself with.... people see he do it and think it okay for them too....

I actually have one such device, I bought it off Amazon, total waste of my money. found another video, more detailed description from women who tried it. My apologies ahead to everyone for this most off topic post. As you were.

At the moment, we are talking how the racial climate feels in the now, how it feels to many Americans of all colors really. I don't believe we are hallucinating it there is much strife today as it had been in past decades. It would be nice if we can get things turned around. When Obama was elected, I rejoiced. I thought: "We've finally reached that right of passage as a multicultural democracy...we allowed a minority member to rule". I thought we would go on with the election of the first woman, to attain the true goal of our constitution...equality. Then Trump (with Putin's help) became our ruler. I'm disgusted with him and those that support him, we must stay focused and angry till November...then vote accordingly.

Do not worry, Trump does something stupid every day, to remind us of the Nov. elections and what we have to do to change Congress! nkat
