Eisenhower and Richard Nixon Nixon and Spiro Agnew Bush I and Dan Quayle Bush II and Dick Cheney McCain and Sarah Palin Trump and Mike Pence
Did Palin cause John McCain to lose his bid for president? I liked McCain at the time but could not see her as being one heartbeat away from the Presidency.

I agree..... seem like all were poor choices.... I liked McCain fairly well but severely disliked Palin.... But as Democrat.... I voted for Mr Obama.

I did too, Chinadoll, but I think McCain would have made a decent president had he won. I have always voted for the person I thought was best suited to the job, no matter the party

I saw the 2008 election as being neck 'n neck between Obama and McCain. I was going to vote for McCain because I was familiar with him. McCain threw away the White House with his choice of Palin for running mate.
I voted for Obama as a result, and of course the choice for 2012 was pretty cut 'n dry....NOT Romney!

I lived in Maryland when Agnew was governor. I didn't have any problem with him as governor, but he was more of a centrist then, and strong on law and order.

I agree..... seem like all were poor choices.... I liked McCain fairly well but severely disliked Palin.... But as Democrat.... I voted for Mr Obama. I did too, Chinadoll, but I think McCain would have made a decent president had he won. I have always voted for the person I thought was best suited to the job, no matter the party I voted for McCain in the 2000 Republican Primary and if he had gotten the nomination I would have voted for him in the general over Gore. I think he would beaten Gore in a landslide in 2000. I also think he would hve made a good President had he been elected in 2000. However the Republicans went with Bush, whom I despised even before he became President. That was the point of no return for the Republican Party. Their last chance for redemption was to nominate McCain in 2000. And the threw it away. After that they began their inevitable slide into Fascism. So I voted for Gore.
By 2008 the Republican Party had forced McCain to move so far to the right in order to get the nomination that he bore little resemblance to the McCain of 2000. They also forced Palin on him.
