Mr. Morris passed away on February 21st after a long and wonderful 14 yr friendship with me. I was devastated. Kidney Failure crept up on him and slowly took all the joy out of his life. However he had a bucket list and we worked on it the last few months of his life. Since I never let him hang out the window of a car, I took my Grand daughter with me and she held him while I let the Jeep idle down a closed back road. He thought he was in heaven! When I went to drop off my taxes on the 1st of March a 3 yr old little girl that was the grand daughter of the accountant brought me a puppy to pet. Charlie arrived in our lives. He is a mix of mini doxxie and Pekingese. My outdoor dog, Dixie was 'trained' by Morris as a puppy. Now Dixie, Charlie, and I go for walks together. I am amazed at the gentleness that Dixie shows. Outside, Charlie is happy. He likes hikes, and following. Indoors, he loves to be near people. He is helping my husband interact more. Let's call Charlie a beautiful and lucky thing that happened to us when we needed it. Having Charlie to pet and fuss over is really helping Grumpy Gus through the end of the winter blahs and offering some laughter with antics while we go through 'issues' with his mother. Pets are wonderful. I don't think I could do without one!

Sorry to hear of Mr. Morris' passing, I know how heart-wrenching that is. If I were a lot younger I'd get a tattoo saying "dogs are the BEST!"

We knew we had a limited time with Morris after he fell seriously ill in October. However, we made that time the best we could with him. He was full of energy and a bit of trickery until he did get sick. There is not a day I don't think about him. However, thankfully Charlie is so different in every way that we don't try to make comparisons. He quickly has captured our hearts too. And that is good.

No..... no animal can replace another but.... a new chapter has opened in your lives and hopefully will be as beloved a story as Morris brought to you both... Morris had a very good life.... a happy one..... Now Charlie will discover that love and affection for himself!

I am so sorry to hear of Morris's passing. He was special pup.. I call all dogs pups as they are like children their entire life, even aged they still bring joy like children do. I know losing a pup is just as heart wrenching as losing a family member, because they are infact a family member. Charlie is a little cutie!!
