Democrats are not running for sainthood. Does big money corrupt politics, yes, it does.
Is Sander going to fix that, No.Will the Democrats fix it, not likely.
So what is our Constitutional plan to get big money out of politics?

I am surrounded by fools who can not see what I see. It is my lot in life and I have known it from a very early age and accept it. It was my misfortune to be born a borderline genius. With an IQ of 140 I barely make it into the genius category. That puts me in limbo. In most areas of life such as on this forum, I am far smarter than everyone else and have to endure the frustration of being surrounded by fools. However when it comes to being a Major League player like say Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Issac Newton and the like, I'm totally out classed. Those Dudes could think circles around me, just like I can think circles around all of you.
I am the Buster Narum of the genius class. You probably never heard of Buster Narum but he actually pitched in the Major leagues.
Buster Narum was the son of my pre-school teacher, Mrs. Narum. And she was very proud of her boy. Buster was about 7 years older than me and he made quite a name for himself in my hometown of Clearwater Florida. Like Bruce Springsteen says in the song "Glory Days" "He was a big baseball player back in high school. He could throw that speedball by you make you look like a fool"
But when he got up to The Show, he was just another schmuck compiling a 14-27 over five lackluster seasons before being sent back to the bush leagues. After a couple of mediocre seasons in the bush leagues Buster got cut and had to go back to Clearwater Florida and get himself a real job.

So that's me. Too smart for this forum, but not smart enough to be a Big League Player. It's a cross I have to bear and I totally understand and accept it. It must be so wonderful to be you.

And so the United States still has the best politicians money can buy. What's new? And that's the problem.. it takes megabucks to run for office.. If politicians didn't take any donations and campaign contributions they would never get elected.. You cannot expect Democrats to turn down money when Republicans rake it in hand over fist.
Unfortunately the majority of the electorate does not research candidates. They depend on 30 or 60 second TV sound bites to make up their minds who to vote for. Those TV ads cost millions of dollars. So candidates are more or less forced to take money.. unless they are able to foot the bill themselves. The Supreme Court Citizens United ruled made it even worse by allowing unlimited dark money donated to PACs. There needs to be campaign reform in the form of limits on $$ amounts that can be donated and a reversal of the Citizen's United ruling. Term limits by themselves would take the incentive out of soliciting for funds during the last term only..

That kind of statement might be funny coming from Sheldon on the "Big Bang Theory", but coming from an otherwise ordinary person is self serving, incredibly arrogant, and, in the long run equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot. Too many fairly intelligent men (in particular) cripple themselves with the same "entitlement" attitude you seem to have. They "deserve the prettiest women available, the best jobs, etc.Their opinions are always the most correct - no one else's thought or opinions matter. they project an aura of superiority. You've been divorced How many years? And you're still stuck in the "I hate my ex-wife stage" instead of getting on with life. In all likelihood there was fault on both sides - there usually is, but you have never reached the enlightened state that allows you to admit that. You come across as a bitter, angry, woman- hating misogynous man. Most women can sense that and steer clear of a man who thinks he is better, smarter and more entitled. Maybe you don't feel exactly like that inside, but that's the image you project. You may be IQ smart, but you are not life smart and in the final analysis, that's the most valuable "smart"

So what is our Constitutional plan to get big money out of politics? It's pretty simple. You stop reinforcing that behavior. You don't vote for the candidates that take most of their money from big corporate donors.

He raised plenty of money from millions of small donors at an average of $27 a pop. The trick is to have a message that actually appeals to the masses.

It must be so wonderful to be you. I wouldn't go so far as to say "wonderful", but I'll go with "better than average"

Here's a clue for you.. If someone needs to tell everyone how smart they are..........................they aren't Here's a clue for you. Many highly intelligent people go through life pretending to be dumber because that's what we have to do to fit in and not be ostracized. I've done that most of my life. samlpc.com/understanding-very-very-smart-people/But now that I'm 70 I've reached a point where I no longer give a damn what other people think.

That's quite obvious... And for the record.... You've done a bang up job of hiding your great intelligence. lol!

It seems what you are hiding is not intelligence but your opinion.
We all have to believe our opinion is right and using intelligence is one way to justify why we are right.
In politics, there are many ways to have people live, you just have to be willing to put up with, the taxes, or the
lack of workers rights, so-on. It comes down to how you would like to live. Some people want the violence of guns
and some don't. Guns in the City are not the same as guns in the country.
Some people like the City some the country
I would like to have a President that is not a running joke!

So when I hear someone claim to be a "genius" based on the results of an IQ test, I am very skeptical of that person's claim. That's the standard excuse that every moron gives when they get a room temperature score on an IQ test. I think your AQ is way higher than your IQ
(AQ = Arrogance Quotient)
Calling people morons is off the scale for arrogance.

You just illustrated my point. You have zero insight. Is that why you are on this forum? So you can demonstrate your superior intellect. Personally, I am underwhelmed by it. I strongly suspect there are many on this forum who are equal in intelligence - or superior. They just don't feel the need to be constantly displaying their "superiority".
