Bella's vet has told me that Bella's teeth need cleaning....and the cost will be $225.00!! Yikes!!
I know, I know, I've read all the benefits of having this done, but $225...?!?
Anyone else had their dog's teeth cleaned?

Done it myself. All pet stores carry toothpaste especially made for dogs and brushes. Never use human toothpaste because fluoride is extremely poisonous to dogs. My dogs, after they got use to what I was trying to do, liked having their teeth brushed. When they'd see me brushing my teeth, they would come running in the bathroom, wagging and waiting for it to be their turn. If you feel Bella's teeth have more plaque on them than they normally should and don't think you'd be able to remove it, then the vet appointment would be worth the money. Will just have to keep up with the brushing after that. Here's a link with a slideshow on how to brush your dog's teeth: pets.webmd.com/dogs/ss/slideshow-brushing-dog-teeth

...thanks, Drifter, I did buy the toothpaste and brush for her....this is built up plaque on her teeth, I'll probably bite the bullet and have it done.

It does help from having a more expensive issue develop which is pulling an abscessed tooth due to the dental issues. My Jack Russell developed teeth issues from 10 yrs old and on. Partially due to kidney problems that were not diagnosed. Teeth are pretty important. I think my doc charged about $110 to do it. Removing a bad tooth was nearly $800!
