If you have a few moments, you might enjoy this NY Times piece called " Snapshots From a Land of Endless Night". There is a video in the piece that runs about 2 minutes with the voices of some of the readers who submitted their thoughts for the article. The pictures are really good as well. Readers describe the thrills and challenges of wintertime in the Far North. For those who live just above the Arctic Circle, there is at least one day a year when the sun never pushes above the horizon. But there are many people who live even farther north who, after the winter solstice, don’t see the sun for weeks. We asked readers who know arctic winters well to share their stories and photos of life in the polar darkness. Nearly 700 readers responded from areas all around the Arctic Circle.

I probably would enjoy staying somewhere like the places featured in the article for a winter. I enjoy it so much. Thank you, I loved reading it and listening to those people tell their stories.
