For all you lovers of good books, you may find this an interesting list, courtesy of PBS. I've read a few of these, but there are several on this list that I'll definitely be checking out. Any favorites on here? Any you would recommend or vote for? The Great American ReadCharlotte's Web was read a lot when my daughters were young. Anne of Green Gables & Clan of the Cave Bear too. Quite a few books on that list that have been read in my house.

Years ago I read the Foundation series and loved it. I was a big fan of Clancy's early work and really enjoyed "Red October". I read "Lovely Bones" a while ago. Lots of good choices on this list.

I thought I'd turn my iPad into a Kindle reader, so I downloaded the Kindle app and experiencing e-book reading for the first time. I downloaded Clive Cussler's "The Spy", and am enjoying e-reading. I read super slow, I like to soak up each little detail lest I miss some important little nuance, that might be critical for following the plot later on.
I'm 1/2 through this story, started last October.

I've also read several on the list...going to refer back to it when I need something new. I load my books on a Samsung Galaxy Three tablet that I've had for several years, thats about all I use it for.

Great list, Bob. I've read quite a few and see a couple that I may read again since my first read was so long ago. I usually read about a book a week.
I'm just beginning An American Quilt by Rachel Ray

Bob, interesting list, but, once I saw "50 Shades of Grey" listed, I thought it was a joke, but okay.
There were a few I have gotten in one chapter, like Mobey Dick, I didn't put on my list, but the ones listed below I can remember reading for sure, now recalling all the details, that would be a feat. Some have more lasting memories in my head than others, one or three were required Eng Lit, reading.
1984 Adventures of Tom Sawyer Americanah And Then There Were None The Color Purple Crime and Punishment The Da Vinci Code Grapes of Wrath Gulliver's Travels The Help Jane Eyre Joy Luck Club Little Women Siddhartha almost all of Hermann Hesse's books Their Eyes Were Watching God.... I didn't finish it. To Kill A Mockingbird Watchers Wuthering Heights.
==============================================
My present list is sitting on the side as not one held my attention past chapter two.

I am presently reading "The Terminal List" by a new author, Jack Carr. It's a thriller about a Navy SEAL who is "on a one-man mission to confront the corruption of absolute power and those who would do anything to achieve it." Enjoying it very much. The author is a former Navy SEAL sniper. The book is filled with jargon (thankfully there's a complete glossary at the back) and those who have been in the military might find it especially good.

A Higher Loyalty by James Comey ......please tell us what you think about what Comey said when you finish. I'd like to know as well ..... about the Hillary thing just before election. I believe he thought Hillary had the election in the bag and he just wanted to cozy up to his Republican friends. Just a little game playing that wouldn't do any harm.
