So I did spend the afternoon having my knee checked out from a pretty nasty rock vs. patella incident about 9 days ago. The doc wanted to make sure that I didn't crack my patella. I am still gimping about so I wanted to make sure that my daily activities were not going to cause any more damage.
The xrays were pretty! No sign of OA. This after 50+ yrs of being a distance runner, hiker, and bicyclist. The doc has been my doctor for 21 yrs. She was overjoyed at finding no damage. However I do have some internal bone bruising which will take time to heal.
She commented that the knee bones were so different than my finger joints which are ravaged by OA. I can continue to walk fairly even surfaces and use the pain for .. as she says ... a limiter.
No magic here. I am happy there was no broken bits. She did comment that the fact that I do weight bearing exercises and cardio have contributed to some good bone health.
I hope so! I am tickled pink. I have to ice and be nice to myself until I heal up.

That is great news for, please do not overdo. Nkat Well I won't but this weekend I am leading folks around to look at ice caves, then we are going to go see if we can catch the big annual Run Off of snow since it will get very warm. Way too exciting to pass up!
