Hasidic leaders gather for an annual group photo of about 5,800 rabbis outside of the Chabad-Yubavitch Worldwide headquarters as a part of the International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Emissaries in New York on Nov. 24, 2019. The conference includes seminars, a class photo of those in attendance and an evening dinner. (AP Photo/Emily Leshner)
(Thought this was an interesting photo to share.)

I could make a comment but maybe later, I could offend someone here...not intentionally but I have my beliefs.

Feel free to comment joymarty . I posted the photo because I think it is really odd that all those men dress alike and look alike. I like that picture.I am not a fan of religion at all. I think it is evil. I bet the company that makes those hats has a thriving business!

Ok, what I was going to say, some barbers could get rich if they got their scissors on these men. oh my..
We have a smallish Hasidic community here in Santa Monica, but quite small.
I worked for an NYC orthodox company in their West Coast office here, and boy what education that was. And I mean education. That was in the late 70's and I am totally non religious at this time. We non jewish employees were the "tokens"... but they were not Hasidic but but but....I'll never forget that almost 10 yrs.

I think a barber would get rich with that group, too. They all look so raggedy. I don't think they care how they look. You were brave to work for that group in NYC for 10 years. I'm sure you have many stories about that place. Found this video on YouTube. Quite interesting.

rubyK, I didn't work for that group..and I didn't work for Haisic jews.. orthodox ones and they wore yamikas (boss did) and observed Saturday as their sabbath. I'll have to view the video.
Read my message, I didn't work in NYC.

I just viewed the above mentioned video, and for anyone not familiar with Hasidic or even Orthodox jews, a good education. A lot I knew and learned some new things too from the video.
Being raised a catholic in a small town in PA, we did not have a jewish person in our town, and when a pharmacist moved in and opened up his business, it was like the people thought he had a disease. My mother was open to him and gave him her business. He was a good guy.
In CA, I've had meany jewish friends and good friends they are...but not the Hasidic types.
