www.pastfactory.com/history/what-historical-figures-really-looked-like/30/The Bible doesn’t describe Jesus’ physical appearance and much modern evidence indicates that he looked nothing like the way he’s been portrayed over the centuries. And without skeleton remains or other body parts that might have Jesus’ DNA, researchers had to rely on forensic anthropology. A team of British scientists and Israeli archeologists used the same methods that are commonly used to solve crimes when they created this image. Is this what Jesus really looked like? That picture looks like the painting that young girl did, when she saw Jesus.

He was Jewish, and would not have been light-haired, blue-eyed, or very pale-skinned, or looked very Caucasian as he is so often pictured in paintings.

All I got was a bunch of ads when I click on the URL. Sigh.
Think about this. If a guy who looked like this perfect Jesus, long hair, beautiful face, wearing a robe with matching sandals, walking along the shore beckoning a bunch of fisherman with a twist of his wrist, to follow him, do you think they would?
If he actually did exist I think he would have probably looked like the fishermen. Rough and ready manly, men. KWIM?
The church made Jesus, Mary, and Joseph all good looking. The perfect family. Lol.

I think that Jesus probably looked a lot more like like the picture in the link in rubyk's first post than the one in the second post -- the light skinned blondish one.
I think he would have looked like the people of his earthly heritage and region, which would be more like the first one.

For some reason I had trouble saving this picture when I first wrote the O.P. Then I discovered 3 copies in my picture file this morning! birdgal ~ I was able to access the URL on the first try. Don't know why you had trouble getting it. Try again. It is a good article. Here is Jesus:

IF he really did exist. I will forever think that one. My mom was very religious and had pictures of saints and god and jesus all thru the house, and one picture was of a "black" jesus. So??????

The reason I say, "If he Really did exist" is because his story only seems to be in the bible.
Is there any mention of him in the history books?
Thank you, Ruby K. I will try that. I can see him looking like the picture you posted. That guy could be a fisherman. The other Jesus not so much. Imho, of course. Lol.

I'm an agnostic, but, I can believe that a Jesus person existed, just not the fairytale version of his existence, more of the Gandhi version Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr and the likes. No actual super human walk on water being. Just a good decent man born out of wedlock and immortalized to give people hope.

From Wikipedia: "The Synoptic Gospels are the primary sources of historical information about Jesus and of the religious movement he founded.[15][32][33][note 2] These religious gospels–the Gospel of Matthew, the Gospel of Mark, and the Gospel of Luke–recount the life, ministry, crucifixion and resurrection of a Jew named Jesus who spoke Aramaic and wore tzitzit.[35][36] There are different hypotheses regarding the origin of the texts because the gospels of the New Testament were written in Greek for Greek-speaking communities,[37] and were later translated into Syriac, Latin, and Coptic.[38] The fourth gospel, the Gospel of John, differs greatly from the Synoptic Gospels. Historians often study the historical reliability of the Acts of the Apostles when studying the reliability of the gospels, as the Book of Acts was seemingly written by the same author as the Gospel of Luke."I agree with birdgal. He's only written about in the Bible.

I agree with you completely rosa427, except I don't think he was born out of wedlock. The church made that up so they could push their story of virgin birth. He was a regular Jewish man for that time period who was married and had children.
