I just saw a meme on "Occupy Democrats" where they took my hypothetical a step further. Trump and Pence both indicted and gone. Pelosi becomes POTUS. She appoints Hillary as her VP... and then steps aside. That would leave Clinton as the POTUS. This would REALLY upset the minions. I like it!

even if he stays in office how can he govern? In other words, if he stays in office, nothing will change. He hasn't "governed" since the day he took office. He has ruled however.

oh yeah and by the way.... the Whistle blower IS A Spy.... hahahahah! that's what we do for a living in the IC .. .....mostly!!
...Trump is a total idiot beyond rational sense!! If you are in any shape or form against him or his policies.... you are a traitor.... he doesn't know what the bleeping definition of traitor means!!!!.... It's okay for him to cozy up to one of the most vicious enemies we have (Putin) but anyone disagrees with him is showing disloyalty... I will say here.... I swore an oath to Protect the Constitution..... not to swear loyalty to the president. I don't work for the president.... I work.... for you!! Thank you for that - for all of it. You continually help us understand the workings of a lot of government functions. Thank you for that too.

We are watching Trump dig his own grave by continuously running his mouth....also Giuliani. Keep talking Trumpie.. People often complain about how Trump dominates the news. He's the POTUS. He must dominate the news and I for one am grateful for it. His lies are front and center for all to see and hear. Like you said Kady, "Keep talking Trumpie."

Unfortunately it seems not to be believed or noted in some quarters. I personally am dumbfounded that all of America isn't up in arms at the grossly illegal, treasonous and just plain antisocial behavior and activities of trump. He is the antithesis of a real presidential person.

A "Trumper" on my FB just posted the following. Not sure I believe it. Will do some verification. Does sound like it could be an all-out bare knuckles brawl. Where's the popcorn....
LET THEM GO AHEAD AND IMPEACH TRUMP.... HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS THEN...... By: Hyram F. Suddfluffel, PhD, (Political Science) I have a degree in Political Science, and I am a card-carrying Libertarian. I've been studying politics and political history for the past 30 years. My specialty is U.S. Presidents. That said, I hope that the House of Representatives impeaches Trump. Let me tell you what will happen next! 1. The House can pass articles of impeachment over the objections of the Republicans, and refer to the Senate for trial. 2. The Senate will conduct a trial. There will be a vote, and the Republicans will vote unanimously, along with a small number of Democrats, to not convict the President. Legally, it will all be over at that point. 3. However, during the trial, and this is what no one is thinking about right now, the President's attorneys will have the right to subpoena and question ANYONE THEY WANT.. That is different than the special counsel investigation, which was very one-sided. So, during the impeachment trial, we will be hearing testimony from James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Glenn Simpson, Donna Brazile, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Christopher Steele, Hillary Clinton, John Brennan, James Clapper, and a whole host of other participants in this whole sordid affair and the ensuing cover up activities. A lot of dirt will be dug up; a lot of truth will be unveiled. Finger pointing will occur. Deals will start being made, and suddenly, a lot of democrats will start being charged and going to prison. All this, because, remember, the President's team will now, for the first time, have the RIGHT to question all of these people under oath – and they will turn on each other. That is already starting. 4. Lastly, one more thing will happen, the Senate will not convict the President. Nothing will happen to Trump. Most Americans are clueless about political processes, the law, and the Constitution. Most Americans believe that being impeached results in removal from office. They don't understand that phase 2 is a trial in and by the Senate, where he has zero chance of conviction. Remember, the Senate is controlled by Republicans; they will determine what testimony is allowed -- and **everything** will be allowed, including: DNC collusion with the Clinton campaign to fix the election in favor of Hillary, the creation of the Trump dossier, the cover up and destruction of emails that very likely included incriminating information. They will incriminate each other for lying to the FISA court, for spying and wiretapping the Trump campaign, and for colluding with foreign political actors, especially George Soros. After the Senate declines to convict the President, we will have an election, and Trump will win. It will be a backlash against democrat petulance, temper tantrums, hypocrisy and dishonesty. Even minorities will vote for Trump, because, for the first time, they will see that democrats have spent 2+ years focused on maintaining their own power, and not doing anything at all about black murders in Chicago, homelessness, opioids, and other important issues that are actually killing people. And, we will spend the following four years listening to politicians and pundits claim that the whole impeachment was rigged. So let's move on to impeachment. Hyram F. Suddfluffel, PhD

I don't see anything wrong with that post by Suddfluffel 2old. The House has the majority of votes to impeach. But I doubt the Senate will hold a trial. McConnell will not bring it to the floor because he knows it would take two thirds or more of members to convict. I doubt many, if any Republicans, would stand with the Democrats. If they would have enough votes to impeach, if taken to the floor, then a trial would be held and overseen by Chief Justice Roberts. A team of lawmakers from the House, known as managers, play the role of prosecutors. The president has defense lawyers, and the Senate serves as the jury. If at least two-thirds of the senators find the president guilty, he is removed, and the vice president takes over as president. There is no appeal. IMO, I just don't see that happening. Republicans need to be voted OUT in 2020!

Much of his rant appears to be wishful thinking - but we will see. Much will depend on the quality of the evidence against trump and both the believably and accuracy of the testimony against trump.

I agree with most if not all of the Suddfluffel quote. I'm also afraid a lot of the country and some of our congress (especially Repub. senators) have overdosed on GOP Koolaid.
Our only hope is an overwhelming Democratic victory in 2020. Anything close will be subject to denial and lead to more violent problems.

Well, he couldn't govern before now anyway, so not much would change.

www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-demands-to-meet-whistleblower-warns-of-big-consequences/ar-AAI1QgyPresident Trump on Sunday evening called for the outing of a whistleblower and railed against other individuals, including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), at the center of a growing scandal involving his phone call with Ukraine's president, warning there could be "Big Consequences." Threatening a whistleblower seems to me would be an abuse of presidential power. Showed Trump asking Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. This would be an abuse of presidential power, whether he got what he wanted, and or offered something to get it. The President can not use his power to investigate his political apposition.End of story! The GOP always has had trouble with understanding the limits of presidential power.

Trump seems to be in meltdown mode. He demands to meet the whistleblower and whoever leaked the phone call. He will get his chance when the impeachment goes to the Senate for trial. He tweeted that if he was removed from office, the country would see a civil war like fracture. Whatever that means.
