God's image, according to some Bibles, why did God create murderers, rapists and the Trump family?
I'm serious. What does that say about a Christian God?

God's image, according to some Bibles, why did God create murderers, rapists and the Trump family? I'm serious. What does that say about a Christian God? "God's image" is a metaphoric phrase, and doesn't necessarily refer to a specific set of traits.
People were created with free will, to make their own choices(and mistakes). God very well could have
created people to be 'perfect', but then they would merely be robots with no mind of their own, kind of
like Trump supporters.

This isn't necessarily the type of website I'd normally go to, but maybe this can be easily understood:
So then, what does it mean to be made in the image of God? It means that we are made in His likeness in that we have some of the same attributes that God has. For example, God is rational (Isaiah 1:18) and so are we. God can love (John 3:16) and so can we. God can hate (Psalm 5:5; 11:5) and so can we. Because we are made in God's image, we are able to have compassion, mercy, grace, fellowship, friendship, etc. However, as God is all-knowing, we are not. God is ever present, but we are not. So, the image of God in us means that we are like Him in some, not all, of His attributes.
And if the OP post was actually serious, a human being may be 'created' as a clean slate with these positive attributes, but if they decide to go the wrong way and turn into murderers, rapists, etc. etc., that's their doing, not God's doing.

We are made in his likeness but are given free will. A person can do good or not. Its his choice. I still subscribe that I am a spiritual being having a human experience. I can make it for good or evil. It is my choice, I choose good.

Being an Atheist I don't have to bother with questions like this.

Thanks for your answers everyone. They are helpful.
Yes, Starmom, I am serious. What makes you doubt that?

I also interpret it to mean that we are co-creators of the world in which we live. The building blocks are given to us and it is up to us how we use them. This idea is not just about the built environment - it is also about the kind of society we choose to create, and yes, in this we have free will, personally and collectively.

Being an Atheist I don't have to bother with questions like this. Just as well. You do not possess the necessary language to address such ideas. However, you might like to ponder some of the answers offered.

I'm guessing that theology is to you as baseball is to me - the undiscovered country.

I'm guessing that theology is to you as baseball is to me - the undiscovered country. It all started when the Dodger's left Brooklyn.
It's been downhill ever since.
