Well, today's news was pretty interesting, wasn't it? Our lying, moron-in-chief has already lashed out at 1. The FBI/Justice Department, 2. The A.G. (yet again), 3. Hillary and her emails (yet again), etc. Calling it (yet again) a "witch hunt" and "disgraceful".
It's going to get increasingly messy, and lord knows where this leads. Any chance for a "Wag the Dog" moment? Interesting to read Twitter feeds, especially from Trump supporters, who are convinced that Mueller is reaching here. Thing is, this action was taken by the Southern District of NY AG's office. Looks like they're investigating Cohen for possible wire fraud, bank fraud and campaign finance violations. I think he's screwed. The GOP has already taken his name off the web site (he's their deputy finance chair).
Rachel Maddow's show is going to be fun this evening. I may even make some popcorn.

A day doesn't go by that something doesn't make the news regarding the people in Trump's inner circle.
Trump's legal team isn't bright, like Mueller's team. It's like watching the cat catching the mice, one by one and the mice just don't know how to outwit the cat.

Well, I don't know how Trump feels but I know how I'd feel if the FBI raided MY attorney's office. *Off topic* A lot of people(including myself) have some negative preconceived notions of lawyers. However, one of the things I absolutely love about lawyering is the way they meticulously dissect and document the facts, and build a case. I patiently await the day when we see this on the morning news:

It would not surprise me to see Trump act impulsively here and fire either Sessions, Rosenstein or Mueller. If he does, what will Ryan, McConnell and cohorts say/do?

Most likely the media will go ballistic and there will be some type of fallout from doing so.
Everyone will speculate that Trump is in fact guilty because there would be no real reason to fire a special counsel/prosecutor unless you had something ugly to hide. It could be looked at as an obstruction of justice (endeavor to influence, obstruct, impede…” as noted under 18 USC Section 1505).
The pressure from media, the Dems and the outcry from the public would be stupendous and Ryan and McConnell would have to finally act.
Time will tell!

Time will tell! Which is the reason why he has so far only talked about it. One of these days I suspect he'll say, "Damn the consequences" and do it. (or he'll tell himself there won't be any consequences - and he'll convince himself.) He won't be able to resist the temptation any longer

I betcha Cohen's license to practice won't last long. You can't go around entering into agreements and contracts on behalf of your client without consulting the client. It's a big fat no-no. That's if Cohen is telling the truth about Trump not knowing (which I strongly doubt). If it's not true, then he's lied and broken privilege and God know what all other ethical rules.
Here, at least, the law licensing authority comes down like a ton of bricks about stuff like this. The smallest infraction or complaint by a client gets you the dreaded letter from the Disciplinary Board and heaven help you if you cannot prove the allegation/complaint/whatever isn't true.

highlandannie, Rachel's show last night was very informative. She really does piece it all together. Of course, now I'm up way too early, but looking forward to "Morning Joe" to go with my coffee. The panel will have loads to talk about.

"It's a disgrace, it's, frankly, a real disgrace, it's an attack on our country in a true sense. It's an attack on all we stand for," Trump told reporters at the White House.... and he is right...... it IS a disgrace.... for a President to act like he above law.... It IS an attack for what the American people should stand for and support..... Sadly.... Mr. Trump is heading for disaster... If he fire Mueller, then nation will erupt in revolt.... he would look guilty in every sense of word..... if he keeps Mueller, then he will eventually (rather soon) be shown the door..... This nation deserves a REAL president.... not this reality tv star..... so sad.....

I had no idea he'd be as bad or as corrupt as he is. He is so much worse than I ever imagined.

This nation deserves a REAL president.... not this reality tv star..... so sad..... I'm not confident that would happen. So far, anything and everything this individual has done is swept under the rug by the GOP and it just goes away. Rosenstein won't fire Mueller. Trump can't. Trump would need to fire Mueller and force Sessions to appoint a new Deputy AG who would be a pawn. The process would take about 48 hours. Pundits would go ballistic. Fox New would applaud. Trump's base would applaud. Ryan would hide. Maybe make an announcement that he doesn't think it should have been done but so what. McConnell will act as if nothing ever happened. Senators and Representatives will appear before cameras saying it shouldn't have happened. Then, they too will disappear. Life will go on. Mueller is smart as a fox. (No, not Fox... fox!) I believe he is collecting evidence and taking down the lower echelon of Trump minions. Mueller is hoping to hold on until the results of the November election are in. If the Dems win one or both houses of Congress, Mueller will take down Trump. If the GOP maintains control of both houses of Congress, he will need to test the winds of politics to see if there would be enough support to indict. Understand, we live in a historically red State. Two of our candidates running for the GOP candidacy for Governor are Kris Kobach and Ken Selzer. We all know the history of Kobach. He has authored legislation for both Kansas and other states that play to the idea millions of non-citizens are voting. Selzer is the current State Insurance Commissioner. He is the darling of the far right. Koch money is already running non-stop tv ads for Selzer. The ads are very pro Trump. He proclaims that the border wall needs built. He proclaims he will keep people from taking away the guns of our citizens. With the Koch money behind him, he will be hard to beat at the polls. A number of those I visit with on a daily basis are hard Trump supporters. When we speak of a "revolt in the streets", I honestly fear we could see more a possibility of that happening if Trump is indicted than if he begins firing Rosenstein/Mueller. Trump and Fox have indoctrinated a significant number of the folk to believe his rhetoric and lies. He is the "Second Coming". He is being persecuted by the "liberal media". He is doing what needs done to get us back to a "white male America".... just like our Founding Fathers intended!! We're in a tough crack as a Country. We need Mueller to keep hammering away as long as he can. The MOST IMPORTANT task right now is to make certain we turn Congress in November!!!!! That is our only hope out of this mess.
