Got myself a 2013 Ram 1500. Bought it new. Has a measly 44000 miles on it. Three weeks ago it crapped out on me. Haven't had a car break on the road in many years.
Had it carried to the dealer. They call and say they are installing a crankshaft position sensor. I say fine. Several hours later they call and say that wasn't it. Two days later they call and say they are still working on it. They call again,say they got it figured out but the part is on backorder thru Fiat Chrysler. Saturday he calls and says UPS has it but they won't deliver till Monday. Today they call and it is done.
$557.48. New Main computer,(under warranty) New main fuse box. Total integrated power management module Fuse box was the problem.
At least it is fixed. Now I have to start to build the trust back again.

Sorry to hear that but glad you got it fixed. Some dealers are notorious for prolonging repairs just to jack-up the bottom line. Repairs are where they make the real money. Years ago I found a very reliable private shop where profit doesn't seem to be the driving force behind the business.
Although I've never been a big fan of anything Chrysler, I did fall in love with the retro look of the Ram truck back in 2009 when they did a redesign of the front end making it look more like a cross between a Studebaker and a semi rig. I liked the slight underslope they added to the grille which I think gave the truck a more 50's style look. The chrome grilles stood out especially well. I almost went out and bought one but my apprehension with Chrysler products and hearing too many horror stories from those that owned them over the years kept me off the lots.
I am glad that you got yours fixed and hope that you don't have any more problems with it in the future.

I am glad that you got yours fixed and hope that you don't have any more problems with it in the future. I have no trust in Chrysler. Back in 1988 my former wife had a 1987 Labaron with less then 10,000 miles.. The steering went out. We had to fight with Chrysler to cover the repair,, the rack had to be replaced. As you know, back then all they covered were engine and tranny. But on a basically brand new car we felt they should be held responcible. Like I said,,, we had to fight with them. We did win,, but still, we shouldn't have had to fight to get the repair covered. The car was just a year old. I myself had a 1981 Toyota corolla 5 speed. Never had a problem with it. Well,, that was until I drove it 1,300 miles basically non stop other than for gas stops and nature calls.

Well the fix lasted for about 200 miles. Quit with same symptoms. They took it back. Had it for two weeks. This time hey replaced the body control module, the gas pedal,(new technology, there is no mechanical linkage, an internal chip in the pedal signals the acceleration), a new engine wire harness, and a new transmission harness. There was also an internal transmission sensor they replaced.
They called and I picked it up. been driving for a couple hundred miles, so far so good.
At least for this, "fix" Chrysler picked up the whole tab. Truck was washed waxed and detailed when I picked it up.

Dealerships are famous for having the service dept. waiting room wall-papered with the training certificates of their mechanical staff. But, time after
time the most common form of diagnosis seems to be 'trail & error". Plug in one part, if that doesn't work, try another....
