Baked a new cake today. An Eggnog bundt cake w/glaze. Looks like it turned out quite well. Won't know what it tastes like until hubby gets home and we try it. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Played outdoors with the feral kittens. They are now 5 months old. Have watched them grow up since birth. They are so happy to see me especially when I have their rotisserie chicken. They sure love chicken!

Granddaughter had car trouble and an appointment with the dealership at 9:30 this morning. She asked if I would pick her up, there, and take her back to her home. She had worked 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on her job as a labor/delivery nurse. Was a walking zombie. Got there and the dealership suggested she wait until they ran diagnostics. While waiting, her younger sister called to see if she could come by our house and have me check and air the tires on her car. Was almost 2 hours waiting on the first one's car. Nothing major and she drove it home. On the way home, texted the other granddaughter and told her to come by for me to take care of her tires. Grabbed a quick sandwich while waiting on her. Had the air compressor already on when she arrived and only took about 10 minutes to top off the air in her tires. Finished lunch and ran a check for 2024 dues out to the golf course. Stopped at the grocery on the way home for some things we needed. Back home and it's barely 1 p.m.!!!
Just got a text from our daughter..."Sounds like you're the grandpa of the year!!"
When I was on the road most of the last 15 years of my career, the son-in-law helped my wife out of a number of issues. Garage door broke. Flat tire on her car at work. Hail storm broke her windshield. Now, he's on the road and I've told them not to hesitate calling me! Felt good to have both girls call this morning needing grandpa's help!!

Got home about 12:30 from my usual morning golf. Walked in and my wife said, "We need to talk!" She had gone to visit a neighbor not too long before and fallen on the concrete porch/sidewalk. Shoulder in pain along with a bump on her head. Spent the entire afternoon at the ER. CT scans for the head. X-rays for the shoulder. Separated shoulder. Appointment tomorrow with orthopedic doc. Didn't appear serious, only extremely painful. Head scans were okay. Also has a thumb that is all black and blue that is evidently sprained.
Sheesh! Old age ain't for sissies!! At ER 1:00. Home 5:30. Fun afternoon......

I'm so sorry your wife hurt herself 2old . Hope she'll be ok and the orthopedic doctor can do something for the pain she's in. (((Gentle hugs to her!))) This morning, I even had to assist her getting out of bed. With the help of Aleve, she went to sleep about 5 a.m. and slept until 11:30. Ortho said it's just the tendons between the shoulder and the collarbone that are torn. No surgery unless she plans on playing baseball or football. Well.... The tendons should reattach themselves over time. May take a few months before full motion back. Use sling for the next 2 weeks. Back to see ortho then. May start her on some physical therapy then. She's back to her ornery self this afternoon. Acting like she feels much better. Have even seen a smile or two. Think she was worried about potential surgery. She did ask the ortho to not tell me things weren't as severe as they could have been, since I've been waiting on her hand and foot. She wants to take advantage of that as long as possible!!!!! :>)

How is Mrs. 2old doing since her fall? Hope she's on the mend. Did that fall affect her neck?

Drifter, she's doing pretty good. Thanks for asking! She's been good about wearing her sling. A couple days after the fall, the things she had strained, stretched and bumped began to hurt. Even got her driving this past Monday. I had made an appointment to get new tires on her car. Had a coupon where if we bought 4 tires, you only paid for 3. It expired end of the month, so wanted to get it done. She followed me in my truck with her car across town. Did really well. They called about 5 p.m. to tell us it was ready. So, took her there and she had to drive back through "rush hour". No fender benders!! :>) Her neck has continued to give her some difficulty, especially with weather changes. But, it seemed to not have taken any abuse in this fall. Still says I'm the biggest "pain in the neck" she's had all these years!! Ortho follow up this coming Wednesday. Will see what he has to say. Doing a little traveling next weekend and will see how she gets along riding for some length of time.

2old, sorry your wife had a fall that has caused her some shoulder damage and related pain. Time and therapy should have her doing much better before too long. Hope all goes well.

I've been busy running the weed eater and getting grass mowed for two days. One more day to work outdoors before a weeks full of rain will be upon us. Then, I can look out and watch it grow all over again.

Busy, busy busy! Finally finished staining the front deck. Next on the to-do list...weed eat and mow grass. Then, pressure wash the back deck and get it stained. Working in the sun is sure giving me a nice tan.

I needed a nap after reading all the things you have to do. I hope you got them all done and can rest for a few days.

I had a badly broken tooth extracted today, and my jaw is throbbing with pain this evening. However, I'm glad that tooth is gone because it has been giving me grief for a long time. Tonight I'll take some Tylenol and half a Zopiclone, and go to bed earlier than usual with hopes for a decent night's sleep.
