www.wsj.com/articles/energy-companies-expect-more-friends-in-washington-as-republicans-take-over-house-11669517278?mod=politics_lead_pos1Part of link.. Oil-and-gas companies are anticipating a friendlier environment in Washington as the House comes under Republican rule next year, while the clean-energy sector is bracing for a slowdown in the Biden administration’s aggressive push away from fossil fuels. House Republicans, who gained a slim majority in the midterm elections, are expected to support measures aimed at boosting domestic oil-and-gas production, which they have framed as a matter of national security following supply strains triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Democrats still control the Senate, and Republicans aren’t expected to pass sweeping energy legislation. But they could make President Biden’s rollout of green-energy policies more difficult, including by using committee chairs to subject federal agencies to scrutiny on energy policy. Oil-and-gas companies could also be getting a warmer reception from Democrats, some in the energy industry believe, given that high fuel prices cut across party lines and a transition away from fossil fuels is still years away. ----------------------------------------------------------- Good news for all of us that use fosil fuels and want more high paying jobs in the US.

The best interests of the Nation always take back seat with this crowd.

The best interests of the Nation always take back seat with this crowd. That says it all in a nutshell. It's all about the money. Like their "smoking is safe" campaign that lasted for years and was responsible for killing thousands, if not millions of us, Republicans have been lying about climate change since the 70s, and they continue today even after their lies have been exposed. It's difficult to tell how many lives have been lost due to toxins in our air, water and land, more frequent and more severe storms, rising seas, etc., but climate change has had a vast, detrimental effect on our lives - not only in loss of life, but a heavy monetary effect as well, all while lemmings like oldmontana fall into the Republican trap baited with lies. It's not at all surprising, the lemmings are fully behind increased oil production. The urgency of addressing climate change to save our planet is perpetually ignored by the Right.

Of course they expected more. They only want what they have bought and paid for. Wouldn't everyone?

Lol, I know what you stand for by your posts and your comments, which means I already know enough. I know that no matter how you try to twist things, you are not to be trusted...and I'm sure I'm not the only one here who feels that way. You lost your credibility here a long time ago.
