"As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool repeats his folly"
The village idiot announced his desire to lose another election. This time even his daughter says she will not campaign with him or support his reelection efforts. His allies tried to discourage him. But, he feels announcing his candidacy is the only means of fending off criminal indictments. That ain't gonna save him!!!
Videos show people trying to leave his last night's announcement. Security would not allow them to leave and they were held hostage. Literally dozens lined up facing the exit, wanting out. They should sue for false imprisonment.
The minions in Congress are turning their backs on him... except for a few. Lindsey Graham has already stated he will support the reelection campaign. Still think there is some blackmail involved with Graham.
Murdock announced neither he nor Fox News would be supporting the reelection. That REALLY has to hurt!!! Will be interesting to hear the Carlson/Hannity broadcasts for a while. Both Fox and CNN cut away from the boring, disjointed display last night.
To have a twice impeached insurrectionist who supported overturning a democratic election... forcibly... be able to run for the highest office in the Land is a slap in the face to all Americans. If indictments fall... will Congress have the spine to stop his reelection campaign? They have the power, if they will only use it.
Democracy survived the 11/8 midterm election. We ain't outta the wood yet.

DeSantis is just waiting as the orange fool finds out, you can't fool all of the people all of the time. DeSantis will slyly pick his time. He'll look like the MVP as Trump brags about being the victim. Nobody likes a whining victim. Whining victims are losers. He'll be written off as an old, demented loser, no longer viable for the presidency. He'll be revered as a great man in his time...but his time has passed...and DeSantis rides in on his white horse to save the day. That's my opinion. I wonder how many people will recognize that DeSantis is just like Trump, but slicker.

Trump will surely miss mega media billionaire Rupert Murdoch's support since he controls both Fox Corp. and News Corp, the parent company of the Wall Street Journal, Harper Collins and the N. Y. Post.
I'm curious to see where Murdoch goes with his influence now. I doubt it will be far from the Republican Party though. The GOP has been too much of a money-maker for him to stray far.
I hope Trump is able to keep a lot of his maga cult people because if both he and DeSantis are strong, it will divide the party and give democracy a better chance in 2024 ...... that is, if the Blue Party can come up with winnable candidates. Republican in-fighting can only go so far.

I think it's all a lull before the $h!tstorm, all the right wingers and the GOP and FOX and (of course) the Nazis will ultimately line up behind Trump, as they had previously done since 2016.
Who else could they...would they possibly support for president? There is nobody that this crooked bunch could support but Trump. Trump IS the GOP,the GOP IS Trump!
@democrats: get ready for a really long, ugly election season. Do what you can do to educate and encourage unity! The Republicans control the House, they are going to try to dismantle the DOJ
and will pull any stunt they can to obstruct justice, and also block meaningful legislation.

Agreed, and it's all because they work for very wealthy and powerful people who are seeking control - people who paid to put them into office. Their agenda has nothing to do with addressing what's best for our country - what's best for the masses. What's so amazing, is that they're not even trying to hide it anymore. Their disrespect for the Constitution and the people of this country is blatant and astounding. I hope, and I actually believe it'll blow up in their faces. I believe, if the Republicans continue down the road they're on, the blue ripple we saw in these midterms will become a blue wave in '24. I believe at some point, Americans will tire of the drama and move on, leaving a minority of Republicans trying to catch up. It may come too late if they don't learn their lesson. As much as I hate money in politics, Dems are beginning to get more contributions from big businesses that don't want to get dragged down the Republican road. No doubt, those corporations are looking out for themselves, but there's really no future in the Republican party.
