The problem isn’t that these new justices are partisan or hacks; they are neither. The problem is that they are religious activists hostile to secular culture while complaining of secular culture’s hostility to religion. I’m not sure which is more terrifying: that these intelligent and accomplished jurists are cynically effacing the scientific differences between a church and a drugstore, or that they actually can’t see them.
The new keep calling the new justices, conservatives, when they are religious activists.
The Conservatives of old, would pander to the religious, but know to keep Government separate, the religious activists, are idea loges, people do not matter.

It might sound strange but religion is the reason I became an Atheist. It was one of the best decisions I've made.
I was raised a Catholic. In my 20's I became a born again Christian. In my 30's I realized the one thing most religions have in common is they all believe they are the one true religion.
I knew people who loved their church but were kicked out for marrying someone of another religion. They were heartbroken.
I'm not bashing anyone's belief. I'm just saying it's not for me. It's too judgemental, restrictive and heavy on the guilt thing.
When I was a teenager a priest yelled at me while I was in the confessional because I forgot the words to a prayer. He screamed so loud, he slammed that little plastic thing in my face, and yelled, "and you call yourself a Catholic?" My friends sitting in the church asked me what I did. They thought I did something really bad. They were a little disappointed. Lol.
That was the day I decided this religion thing wasn't for me. Being a teenager was difficult enough. I didn't need a man behind a plastic curtain screaming at me because I forgot a few words. No thanks.

Religions are good for the religious, but NOT good to run the US. We need a kind, tolerant leadership, for all the people, this is not the religious extremism.
Justice, Thomas is talking about cutting back on freedom of the press, which show us that his decisions have nothing to do with what is in the Constitution.

He is a joke. I still can't believe a guy like that sits on the highest court of the land. He's more of a carnival barker than a judge. He's an embarrassment to the US. He makes US look like a bunch of fools. If it looks like a fool and walks like a fool and talks like a fool...that's what it is! It's difficult for me to be proud to be an American with fools like that on the Court. I get the feeling other countries are pointing and laughing at US.

The new keep calling the new justices, conservatives, when they are religious activists. The GOP has discarded the Conservative facade, and is going all out pushing their true fascist agenda. Exploiting the right wing religious types is part of the ploy. This is straight out of Adolf Hitler's playbook, Taking over the highest court in the land is part of the seditious conquest... mission accomplished.

I knew in my heart when Amy Coney Barrett was appointed to the Supreme Court that it was the end of Roe vs. Wade. After 12 years of being educated in Catholic schools, I can spot a "good catholic girl." One look and I knew she was going to vote according to her religion. It would be impossible for her to do otherwise, despite what she said before being accepted. Like birdgal , I have not been Catholic since my 20s. Religious makeup of the current Court Name Religion Appt. by On the Court since
John Roberts (Chief Justice) Catholicism G.W. Bush 2005 Clarence Thomas Catholicism G.H.W. Bush 1991 Stephen Breyer Judaism Clinton 1994 Samuel Alito Catholicism G.W. Bush 2006 Sonia Sotomayor Catholicism Obama 2009 Elena Kagan Judaism Obama 2010 Neil Gorsuch Anglicanism/Catholicism[81][82] Trump 2017 Brett Kavanaugh Catholicism Trump 2018 Amy Coney Barrett Catholicism Trump 2020
7 out of 9 Justices are Catholic!
There is no longer separation of church and state!

What we need are only Atheist politicians. Religion that has been spoon fed to you since you were a child is practically impossible to ignore. The guilt will widdle you down.
Although it's not impossible to break free of it. I did, and if I can do it anybody can. These are the situations our Founders were concerned about when they insisted on religion and politics being separate.
Very wise people. We need more wise men and women these days.

With all due respects, and while I somewhat agree, when you say, "I did, and if I can do it anybody can," that's not necessarily true. People need to have a reason to want to change, and most followers are perfectly happy with their beliefs. "I did, and if I can do it anybody can," is what rich people say to poor people.

Barrett is a weird kind of Catholic. These so called Catholics are being influenced by the Religious Right and Trump followers. They are not separating Church from State. Biden is Catholic and not doing this. I think they are afraid of Trump and his followers.

Catholics who want money and power, and are afraid of a secular government, which would treat them fairly, and not give them the special rights they, have and want.
The US Supreme Court is supporting very bad, and bias laws, which violate the separation of church and state which was in place to stop dueling religions.
Ok, let say a gay coach wishes to make a gay prayer with the 3 grade football team, in Florida.
He comes from a Gay affirming Church, would it not be a violation of his religious rights, as put forth by the US Supreme Court, to stop him?
And I can go on and on, when the religious, get special, rights, how does the government decide which, religion, wins. Answer :separation of church and state
US Supreme Court, is going to have to tie itself in knots, to support it's bias religious rulings.

Notbob, I don't know where you got the idea that I expect people to change if they are safe and comfortable and cozy with their beliefs.
Perhaps I could have added if you are no longer comfy and committed and are questioning your beliefs and no longer feel comfortable with the religion you grew up with it might not be that difficult to walk away from it, or chose another belief system.
Please note I used the word "might" here. I'm aware that just because I had no problem leaving my religion (that's me in the corner) does not mean others can do it as easily as I did.
BTW, I'm not rich or poor, but I still believe if I could walk away from the religion I was spoon fed, I still believe others can do the same if they want.
Actually, I walked away from 2 religions but thats a whole nother story. ;)

The Supremes have already tied themselves in "nots." Your are not allowed to do this, think this, or say this. They are a joke. There's nothing supreme about them. They appear to be an obnoxious, self centered, group of, I was going to say thugs, but I don't want to get kicked off the board. So I'll just say puffed up and obnoxious people who seem to have forgot who they work for.
