They look like bald faced hornets. Nasty little buggers if disturb.

But bees are good things to have in our gardens, aren't they? They are very hard workers, team players, and provide us with honey (that we steal from them to put in our tea) and help our flowers grow and thrive. I like them.
I had to relocate a hornets nest that hornets built on my gas cap a few years ago. I let them know I meant them no harm.
I gently pryed it off the cap with hornets circling my head, and my spouse at the front door asking about my sanity.
I secured it in a wooded area next to the house. They were fine with the move and so was I. They had a safer home, I didn't get stung, and I could put gas in my car without disturbing them. A win win! Lol.
