“Thousands of Christian leaders and institutions have stood firm on the foundational truths of our faith and against the disheartening embrace of Trumpism,” said Christians Against Trumpism & Political Extremism co-founder John Kingston. “When the history books are written about this era, the principled, committed and courageous leaders who refused to compromise will be remembered, and we are deeply grateful for their stand.”religionnews.com/2020/10/30/not-our-faith-christians-against-trumpism-political-extremism-spend-250000-ad-buy-to-reach/linkWhere were these leaders for the last 4 years? But the religious fanatics are still being told from the pulpit that Trump and the Covid plague are a fulfillment of bible prophesies, all a sign that "the end is near, praise God! Who needs a mask or a decent man as president? It's God's business and they mustn't interfere."

Just a comment about the "end is near." I have been hearing that prediction since I was in elementary school. That's a long time.

Just a comment about the "end is near." I have been hearing that prediction since I was in elementary school. That's a long time. It's been around in some form with varying dates since the beginning of recorded history. I had a close acquaintance who read in some book that 8-8-1988 was the magic date and he drove himself mad in the few days leading up to it. There were some very important things going on in our life at the time and he kept telling me that none of those things mattered since it would all be over on Monday. He truly believed it and was so afraid he was almost hysterical by Sunday night. I wasn't very sympathetic. I said, "So what? In the meantime I'm taking care of business." Monday came and went without incident but that was the beginning of the end of that relationship. I can deal with eccentric but not crazy. Sorry to stray from thread.
