"All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." You can intercept that a different way. One is the good men are trying to keep our cities safe and to stay silent would lead to more destruction, looting and bodily harm and death. Intercept?

Do you really believe this? The feds are there because tramp was trying to look tough on crime and divert people attention from his incompetence on the virus.
What it showed was he is just as incompetent on crime, as he is on everything else.
Like his America alone policy. with trump's foreign policy we would have lost the cold-war.
If we had worked with our allies, to get investigators in to china, when the virus broke out, things could be a lot different today.
America alone is America at it's weakest.

No that would be sill. but he did try to take advantage of the lingering protestors. to play tough on crime and it did not work.
tramp has this country in the biggest hole it been in, in a long time and he seems to keep digging.

Hopefully there will be a good man in the WH again. Until then we are stuck with an evil man.

PORTLAND, Ore. (Reuters) - Portland had its first night in weeks without tear gas after state police took over from federal agents guarding a courthouse that has been the focal point of violence between protesters and tactical officers.

I can't fight your fantasy. Dream on. I am just glad negotiation solved the problem and the Feds left.

You got your info off Fox news. No wonder it's inaccurate fantasy. I watched the news about it on local TV news; it was not as you say. The protestors policed themselves and headed off any even potential problem. The Portland police supervised and had to deal with no problems - no tear gas or rubber bullets. The protestor left VOLUNTARILY at the end of the evening. They were not "removed" by anyone but themselves.
BTW I live across the river from Portland - and I worked at the Justice Center for several years. The feds share that building with the Multnomah sheriff (jail) and Portland Police, so I'm pretty familiar with the area

"The protestor left VOLUNTARILY" no they did not. You say there were no problems...I laugh at that! You call the story a fantasy because it was from FOX. OK hear is another source... Part of the link... www.oregonlive.com/portland/2020/07/portland-police-clear-parks-across-from-federal-courthouse-in-early-morning-sweep.htmlPortland police clear parks across from federal courthouse in early-morning sweep By Kale Williams | The Oregonian/OregonLive and Noelle Crombie | The Oregonian/OregonLive Portland police cleared an entrenched encampment at Lownsdale Square across the street from the federal courthouse in downtown early Thursday at the request of Oregon State Police, who are set to assume control of the scene of nightly protests that have roiled the city The Portland Police Bureau said the city park and neighboring Chapman Square, as well as the sidewalks surrounding them, will remain closed. The sweep will provide city staff with a safe environment to do repairs and “much needed renovation,” said Police Chief Chuck Lovell. Mayor Ted Wheeler said the move was part of the plan for federal officers to leave the protection of the courthouse to state troopers. “People literally got up and started stumbling out of the park,” he said. “There was no resistance. The people just moved out.” The parks have been the staging grounds for nightly clashes with federal officers from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Protective Services and Customs and Border Patrol agents. Thousands have gathered nightly at a fence erected around the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse, with peaceful protests followed by people setting fires, lighting fireworks and throwing rocks and other objects at the courthouse and federal officers. The officers routinely use tear gas and impact munitions to disperse the crowds and face numerous lawsuits for causing injuries. Their presence and tactics have been roundly criticized by the governor and mayor. ============================================ "Thousands have gathered nightly at a fence erected around the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse, with peaceful protests followed by people setting fires, lighting fireworks and throwing rocks and other objects at the courthouse and federal officers" And you say there was no problems.

“People literally got up and started stumbling out of the park,” he said. “There was no resistance. The people just moved out.” from the link above=the Oregonian/OregonLive and Noelle Crombie
There was nothing to protest, after the feds left.
I know this is incredible obvious, If the feds were still there the protestor could have move to a different place, but as the feds were gone, the focal point of the larger protest was gone, too.
So the larger protest had no purpose and came to an end.
I am glad the fed's reckless action got no one killed and the real police came in and bailed the feds out.

Nothing to protest?? The protest I believe was a BLM protest. That is still going on ... watch the NBA. Its a good thing if its peaceful. "Thousands have gathered nightly at a fence erected around the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse, with peaceful protests followed by people setting fires, lighting fireworks and throwing rocks and other objects at the courthouse and federal officers".... That is unacceptable! I doubt its over. The radicals have been there for weeks and like you said they can and probably will move and set up their camp in a different area. The Mayor of Portland and the Governor will have to answer for there inaction.

The park was a mixture of campers and homeless. They were NOT being violent. The majority of protesters had left.
