I really enjoyed the fawn deer rescue formerlyme . Brought back a lot of memories of all the animals I rehabbed and released. It would be fair to say the fawn was able to drink from its mother after birth. It's important for them to do so, so they will survive. And, the dog licking the fawn, removes their scent from predators and also activates it to defecate and urinate. She had a good start to her new life with such a caring family! Thanks for posting this video!

You are most welcome, Drifter...I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought it remarkable that a male dog took on a mothering role with the fawn. I didn't know what an important role the licking played, always thought it was just a bonding thing.

When I raised orphaned raccoons, both my male dogs mothered the heck out of them. I had to buy a baby mattress and put it on the floor for the one coon and my lab dog to snuggle together on, for the night.
People should learn from the animals...on how to get along.

Making clothing the traditional Inuit way. This film was made many years ago, so the term Eskimo is used. Modern indigenous people of Canada's north dislike the term Eskimo, preferring Inuit (or Inuk for an individual). My grandson's birth mother (my son's ex spouse) is an Inuk. Enjoy this peek into a culture and its traditional skills that are slowly slipping away.

formerlyme The above video could have been filmed in my own backyard. lol He must have used a trail cam to capture that activity. We see all of that day and night while sitting outside on the back deck or while walking through our yard.

Sorry about that, Drifter . This one should work...it's a PBS production, so should be good in the USA.
