QS can you cook for him and drop off some meals? Soups would be good for the fluids.

I just knew this was going to happen because of what he does.. He is a custodian for three separate postal facilities in Chicago. So he is in contact with all kinds of stuff and all kinds of people. I warned him continuously to wear a mask and to wash his hands constantly.. But you can only do so much. and only warn so much.

Quicksilver, has your son actually tested positive for the virus or is it still just presumed he has it? I'm curious about the amount of testing actually done as opposed to the claims of tests for all who need it.

Quicksilver, has your son actually tested positive for the virus or is it still just presumed he has it? I'm curious about the amount of testing actually done as opposed to the claims of tests for all who need it. He began feeling sick last Tuesday evening.. fatigue, headache, muscle aches.. and a cough.. He went to the VA hospital on Wednesday morning.. and he had a temp of 101.. but was not having breathing problems.. they tested him for influenza both type A and B.. Both were negative.. so he did not have the flu.. The doctor told him that by eliminating the flu, it was presumed to be COVID. Unfortunately due to the lack of tests, he was told they were only using the covid tests for those sick enough to be admitted to the hospital.. and he wasn't.. So they said that he was considered presumptive positive and sent home for a 14 day quarantine.. They told him that should it become difficult for him to breathe he should call 911 and come back.. So it's true... there still are not enough tests, even at the VA hospitals, which are owned and run by the Federal Government.. Trump is LYING... LYING... LYING....
Anyway.. he has not had any issues. and his temp is down under 100. He is not feeling great and is still extremely weak and tired, but his breathing has not worsened.. so he is laying low.. taking fluids. monitoring his temp and sleeping a lot..

QuickSilver, fingers crossed that your son may only have a very mild case of coronavirus, and just needs to rest at home and isolate for at least 2 weeks. It is a good sign that his temperature has come down, also that his breathing isn't worsening. Wishing the best outcome for him, you and your husband.

We brought him some supplies yesterday, but left them at his door.. knocked and left.. We can't take any chances at our age and with hubby's health issues.. .. It's really all we can do for him now.

My son.. age 50, felt sick and feverish this morning, so he went to the VA hospital ER.. He is negative for the Regular flu. There are not enough Covid 19 tests and only inpatients are being tested.. so since he is not sick enough to be admitted it is now assumed he is positive for Covid and will be sent home for a 14 day quarantine.. This is not a hoax. this is not something that happens to others... It can happen to you and to your loved ones. So sorry this is happening to your son. Quicksilver, has your son actually tested positive for the virus or is it still just presumed he has it? @quicksilver So good to hear that his fever is down and he feels slightly better.
Awful to hear how he was treated at the VA. You guys are doing what you can.

How is your son doing now?
Mine says he has the flu, but claims no fever, not a dry cough. I've no doubt if he has Coronavirus that he won't tell me unless he has to.
I have 2 friends who have it. Not tested but all the symptoms and recently travelled.
