My son.. age 50, felt sick and feverish this morning, so he went to the VA hospital ER.. He is negative for the Regular flu. There are not enough Covid 19 tests and only inpatients are being tested.. so since he is not sick enough to be admitted it is now assumed he is positive for Covid and will be sent home for a 14 day quarantine.. This is not a hoax. this is not something that happens to others... It can happen to you and to your loved ones.

Sorry to hear that QuickSilver. Hope he'll be feeling better and get past this. Does he have a wife/children that will have to be quarantined too?
No, it's not a hoax. Those that feel it is are going to be in for a big surprise.

No, it's not a hoax. Those that feel it is are going to be in for a big surprise. No my son is a bachelor... If he needs anything my husband and I will have to shop for him and leave it at his back door.. as we are both high risk.. and cannot be in any contact..

I'm so sorry to hear this, QS. Is he in otherwise good health? If my son were ill, my first reaction would be to want to rush over and help him; it must be hard knowing you can't do that.

I hope you can stay safe while shopping for him too. I had a discussion with my youngest yesterday. He is about to be evicted, has no job, can't get unemployment, has two small kids, wife works Uber and has no way to sit this out safely. He is mad that his father has not offered him sanctuary at his place. The father does have a separate mini apartment attached to his house. I told son I am too far away and we do not have the means nor the space to keep our families separate. He is over 4 hrs away by car. It is getting terribly real bad, very quickly.

Is he generally healthy? No.. He has mild COPD.. and that's what scares me so much. He knows that should he start feeling short of breath he needs to get back to the hospital.

This is such a nightmare....I feel for you Quicksilver and Louie...it is hitting all of us, its infuriating that our government was not and is not prepared for this, I read this morning that CDC is asking the public to sew mask for the medical community and will post instructions this afternoon.

Hope he has a milder case like most.

QuickSilver , so sad to hear your son is unwell. I hope he improves but, if things continue getting worse, that he will get back to hospital a.s.a.p. louie , sorry to hear this has caused such a difficult situation for your son. I hope he and his family are able to stay safe. In some parts of Canada, eviction notices/procedures have been put on hold during the crisis.
