My neighbor who is of very low senior income gets the free lunches most days anyway. I wouldn't take these "free" lunches as I can afford my own food and to take them from people who are really needy, not in my M.O. And besides she's pretty disabled with arthritis and takes care of herself at 92. She's a proud woman but now taking the lunches.

Our township is offering free lunch delivered to Seniors on Tuesdays and Fridays.. So we will be taking advantage of that. It will help our supplies to last a bit longer. Sounds good! nkat

I picked up an order of groceries, I noticed the pickup times are being stretched out...used to be able to pickup on same day as ordered, not now...so far, I'm making it fine as the weather warms up I can stay busy outside with different projects.

The local church is doing some meals for the small apartment that houses seniors in a town of 150. Those folks will depend on those meals. And it is a good way to check on the shut ins...

The only item I couldn't find in the stores was ewww....powdered milk. We are a small hobby farm and have a great back up of meat and veggies. I added all the basics to our 'backup'. Salt, flour, sugar, and other baking materials. I may order some powdered milk on line. We are going into self isolation here. Easier as we have a tiny farm and about 1000 acres that is not inhabited around us.

Tomorrow evening, it will be a full week of our self isolation. Except for a nice brisk walk to the mail box a half mile away, we have remained in our house and out in our back yard for breaths of fresh air. We are comfortable with out supplies on hand and know we can get anything we want via Amazon. But it still is difficult. We are used to being on the go.. Movies, Plays, Museums, Antique Malls, window shopping at major shopping malls.. We were always out.. Now that has stopped so it's hard.. BUT.. keeping in mind that when all this is over, we likely will be alive to once again enjoy the things our big city offers.. It's just a bump in the road.
On a sadder note, my sons have gotten word from their half brother that their father is now in a nursing home on hospice. He does not have much time to live.. BUT.. all visiting is stopped and the area nursing homes are on lockdown. They will likely not be able to see their father before he dies.

If I've been isolating, it's started 10 yrs ago with dentists and eye docs. I use supplements for both these areas of my body and I don't need these docs. Plus I've way way reduced refined sugars and this keeps my dental health good, and a new toothpaste that is coconut oil based which is anti germ more than others...
I love NOT giving my money to these doctors as I did it for plenty of years as I didn't take care of myself as I'm finally doing.
Talked to the food delivery service people and they say it's maddening and orders are filled and delivered at least a week later than the customer requests.
As for restaurant going, I've done that route all my life and in recent years not as much..prices are up up and my friends also are not going out to spend money at these eateries. A treat for me is my trip to our favorite sushi place where I usually spend $25 or so for a nice sushi "fix"... and we make it a point to out for our birthdays as a 3-some.
Big crowds have been off my radar for years, long before CV.

I just pay taxes on it and look at it. Need any trees removed/cut down? I'm always looking for firewood.

I went to a farm and purchased fresh eggs and a nice package of different kinds of meats she had on a deal from animals she raised on her farm.
I have one friend who told me I shouldn't worry, this was all a scam and another friend tell me 'hunker' down.
I'm going to reschedule hubby's appts for later this spring and I think I will sit back and see what happens. My job is to take care of hubby. And that means making sure I don't get sick.
So yes, going over to total isolation beginning tomorrow.
