Some of you know that I 'do' photography for a hobby.
Looking for unique things to see on my hikes and ways to present them are always on my mind. It helps reduce stress and keeps my mind sharp...well, I think it does.

It is a part of curiosity about Nature. I love winter in this area.
However while hubby was not feeling well and needed 24 hr watching, I had to come up with something much different to keep busy in the house.
I watched some videos about 'creating' Fairy Houses, so I wanted to see if I could do something similar and do it cheaply with materials found around the outside of the house.
I made one just from sticks and bark then added mini rabbits that are less than an inch tall.

I made the mushrooms out of clay and painted them. The photo I edited to look like a drawing for a kid's book.
I just figured out a way to make paths and ponds and will make a section of my garden a 'fairy' sort of garden.
Last week I started my Master Naturalist Class. It is a 10 week course on Monday nights. I have coverage for my husband if I need it.
So I have gone out the past few days to collect blue green limestone pebbles for a fairy garden path I will make and explore the strange water critters there are in March in our creek. I had NO idea I could find just hatched trout and Sow Bugs, and side swimming Scuds! In the land of ice and snow I was able to find teeming life in our little creek.

These things in the above photo are smaller than my fingernail.
And here is a 'Fry', which is a freshly hatched trout the size of a tadpole!

I think the bubble looking thing just below it may be an egg!
These cool items are only a 10 minute walk from my house. I could spend hours doing the walks, but tend to only go out when my husband is taking a nap or stuck on a TV program.
Enjoy.
