I am adding to my shopping list. After my haircut today, will stop at the vet to buy more special food for my cat. worse comes to worse, will be cooking over our fireplace. Have done it before! nkat I think we will still have our stoves and running water.. Just have enough food for your pets.. and for yourself as well as prescription medications.. They say have at least 2 weeks of nonperishable foods.. I've got a freezer full of meat and plenty of other stuff.. we will be okWent to our farm store and bought dry soup packets you just add water to. Expensive but worth it. Our cat is on special kidney food so stocked her up. Got my pills refilled. Been through snow storms, had power off a week, so wanted some foods not frozen or requiring the frig. nkat

There is one confirmed case of the virus in Scotland (not my area) and the person is doing well. Lots of testing being done. There are 50 confirmed cases in other parts of the UK.
We have booked a 3 night trip to London in early April. Non-refundable prepaid train and hotel and concert tickets. Going.

A friend and her fiancee have been planning their trip to Japan for Olympics in June and hardly anything is refundable, money wise. It's been in the plans for about 2 yrs for them. And if the games are cancelled, who knows how that will go. So right now, they have their passports and her mom's concern is that once over there, they could be quaranteed and not be able to get back. So much can happen until then. I would NOT want to be in that situation.

Mmmm. I was reading that the VA doesn't want people coming in with 'the common' cold at this time but to call in and do a video appointment. Teleconferencing is really pretty good and I've had to do that with a nurse with GG more than once. Of course if the symptoms are serious, the patient is advised to go to the nearest place to get treatment.
That said. Lots of hand washing and hand sanitizer before entering the nursing home. Going to the store tomorrow and out to lunch.
My husband is one of those that would die from this so we are being cautious.
We have months worth of beef/pork/and veggies in the freezer. Just would need milk if things got bad. Toilet paper too I expect, however the old pile of shopping papers would do in a pinch as we have an outhouse too. My husband is an expert at being a hermit.
I hope everyone here stays well.
