Sadly Climate change is going to have the last laugh, As most of Florida will be under water!
Generally it is my belief that people's emotional system is too short sighted to deal with Climate change.
but they can keep their guns for protection????

I think climate change is the number one issue our government should be addressing, instead with the Trump administration we are regressing big time.
The damage that has been done will take years and years to recovery....sad indeed.

Maybe when Mar-A-Lago becomes reclaimed by the ocean, Trump will start to accept and deal with climate change! It ought to be an urgent priority for the entire planet, and further delay makes life less viable or pleasant for future generations. It's already becoming catastrophic in several places like Australia, etc.

Sure...then they can threaten the ocean to get back.... Guns don't work under water!
Maybe they can get someone to call the ocean names or start some bad spin against it.

It ought to be an urgent priority for the entire planet, and further delay makes life less viable or pleasant for future generations. It's already becoming catastrophic in several places like Australia, etc. Absolutely, but we have a government which grudgingly admits that climate change is real but which refuses to do anything much to deal with it. They were caught with their pants down when the fires started even though the country was extremely dry from a long drought and year by year the summer temperatures have been breaking records. They had no plan to deal with the consequences of climate change, preferring to leave it to the states and volunteers. The last straw was the PM going on vacation in Hawaii with his family while out of control fires over about one third of the continent were destroying homes and businesses and people were forced to shelter on beaches waiting for evacuation.
Still they refuse to consider the contribution of fossil fuels to what we are now experiencing. They play lip service to science but take their orders from the fossil fuel barons.
The good news is that heavy rains have extinguished some of the biggest fires but they have brought swollen flooded rivers in their wake and more evacuations. The good news if that the rivers are being flushed but the bad news is that ash and debris from the fires is ending up in the dams. The good news is that the dams are filling up and dry river beds are now running. The bad news is that the cyclone season has begun. Let's hope that they are not super charged by global warming.

Storms increasing, weather going amok but Trump says it's all a hoax.... sadly our children will be inheriting... basically a junk yard that rains most of the time and floods from the ocean up to Iowa.... Hoax.... yeah.... big hoax where you can't breathe.... where animals are becoming extinct in record numbers where honeybees are disappearing.... hoax....food production will fall, famine increases, diseases become stronger and more deadly.... yep... a hoax.....

If something isn’t done soon, I in SWPA will be living by an ocean. Our Earth does not deserve this abuse!

I have been to Beijing Horrible pollution beyond your wildest nightmare yet they live in that day after day One morning not see sky just orange rust glow. I wore face mask it hurt to breathe First air you COULD actually cut with knife!! On top of bad air many Chinese smoke which bad for you anyhow but to mix with rotten air to me is suicidal China rely on fossil fuel and coal highly. Trump wants more coal?? Just what we do NOT need

Too late,,,, Nothing and I mean Nothing can be done. Period. No magic pill. Get rid of all oil, gas, kerosine, anything anything anything that burns. That also means cut down all the trees all over the world so no fires start. Also, cool the earths core so no more steam baths, volcanos,,, nothing nothing nothing. Oh and kill every living thing that farts or poops. Oh and no more steel also. Millions of years ago, both poles were lush forests and swamp lands. But something in nature changed that so we humans could get a foot hold. After the ice age of course.

My biggest fear is that Mother Nature will get her revenge.

Mother Nature is merciful. First she sends fire to teach us a lesson, then she sends floods to put them out.
And to ram home the lesson.

A critical ocean system may be heading for collapse due to climate change, study finds www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2021/08/05/change-ocean-collapse-atlantic-meridional/A critical ocean system may be heading for collapse due to climate change, study finds 'The consequences of a collapse would likely be far-reaching.’ By Sarah Kaplan at the Washington Post "SNIP...... Human-caused warming has led to an “almost complete loss of stability” in the system that drives Atlantic Ocean currents, a new study has found — raising the worrying prospect that this critical aquatic “conveyor belt” could be close to collapse. In recent years, scientists have warned about a weakening of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC), which transports warm, salty water from the tropics to northern Europe and then sends colder water back south along the ocean floor. Researchers who study ancient climate change have also uncovered evidence that the AMOC can turn off abruptly, causing wild temperature swings and other dramatic shifts in global weather systems. Scientists haven’t directly observed the AMOC slowing down. But the new analysis, published Thursday in the journal Nature Climate Change, draws on more than a century of ocean temperature and salinity data to show significant changes in eight indirect measures of the circulation’s strength. These indicators suggest that the AMOC is running out of steam, making it more susceptible to disruptions that might knock it out of equilibrium, says study author Niklas Boers, a researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Science in Germany.

I dislike sweating and hot weather but this does not sound like a great alternative.
