I haven't posted in a while but I have been lurking and reading a lot. Here is my Pekinese/Mini Daschund dog, Charlie. He brings a lot of comfort to my husband by being a avid fan of petting and sleeping next to him on the couch. Charlie has also inherited the strong urge for hunting. This is a photo I took yesterday after he'd flushed out 3 rabbits and gave chase. He wears a beeper collar so I can call him off track. He stands 7 inches tall at the shoulder and is a mere 11 pounds. Since we live in a rather wild area, the collar is necessary to keep him from running too far. We have a fairly healthy population of coyotes that would love Charlie as a doggy snack. You all have a nice Christmas if I don't get back here !!!

That's a cute dog, louie. Hope you and your family have had a happy Holiday season. We have coyotes in our urban MN neighborhood and people have to be careful to keep their small pets safe. Many cats have disappeared lately.

Many cats have disappeared lately. There was a special I watched about coyotes in urban areas and how they have moved into the cities and are very elusive. Short video on the Chicago Coyotes: Coyotes in ChicagoI've hunted them and they are very elusive. We are coming up on breeding season in this area and we keep the dogs close while hiking. I do admire them yet am very careful with my tiny dog. Thank you we did have a very quite Holiday.

louie ~ Thanks for posting the coyote video. I loved it and will pass it on to Nextdoor, a neighborhood chat group. It was interesting to learn about the coywolf, too.

@rubyk ~ no problem. I live in the middle of a large tract of forest, so I find what happens around me in the wild to be fascinating.
I was really surprised as to how coyotes have adapted to the cities.
