Shucks I just love the smell of napalm in the morning! Talk about instant cookin’ The industry sure has made a killing from all the nukers out there...wonder how all my parents generation ever made it? No nukers in their lives. I was kind of joking...... napalm?? A little extreme way to cook!!

A little extreme way to cook!! You may have been kidding, but I was not. I don't need to add extra radiation to my life no matter how little they tell us we are getting. I don't trust all this new quick quick stuff to make our lives easier... I of course question on the rad from the cell phones etc....

Thanks for the opinions. I think I will just buy another hood with a light and vent. I like the microwave on the counter. Just thought I was missing out on something good. I prefer having a hood to vent the stove, and a separate microwave that can sit on the countertop. The only possible use for hanging the microwave over the stove is if the kitchen absolutely had zero available countertop space.

I have a microwave over the stove and find it very inconvenient. I'm a short person and that makes it more difficult to use, and since I hurt my shoulder, even more so.

Do you find it convenient or is it in the way of the stove? The light/vent above my stove is over 30 years old and needs to be replaced. I have no experience with a microwave over the stove and wanted some opinions. I can't see the picture very well, but I wouldn't want to lean over the stove to use a microwave, especially if it's a gas stove with pilot lights.
