We should worry about both! And the sun is natural, life evolved with sunlight since the beginning. These chemicals are NOT natural and they are NOT tested. I don't think skin cancer results simply from sunlight. I think it's a combination of things, especially the chronic inflammation that results from the typical American lifestyle.

And this is at the end of the article:
"When it comes to personal health, a basic plan to cover up seems sensible. I wear a UV protective swim shirt and hat in the sun. My children tell me I don’t look as cool as the other dads, but I need to use a lot less sunscreen than they do."
So the author is at least compromising and using less sunscreen. But if you read the whole article, not just the first sentence, you will see there are real reasons to be concerned about sunscreen. Look at some of the comments also.

You can go ahead and get skin cancer. Edit: I see that in your short few months on this forum that you have a history of preaching and being argumentative and pretending to be an expert.

I have a history of not always agreeing with the "experts." Some people don't want to think and read for themselves, and will always trust whatever the authorities tell them. So they get angry at anyone who is skeptical.

But in this case, I AM agreeing with the experts who are saying some chemicals in sunscreen are not safe!
Anyone who cares about their health should at least learn about the chemicals and try to avoid the ones that are now known to be harmful.
