Baseball on TV is great for napping. IMO. I no understand game well but no time for sleeping! Football make me close eyes when people hit Rugby make me cringe especially watching Rebecca play Baseball is more based on skills no so much on being brute reason I say baseball on TV is great for napping is that the announcers are so dry they lull to sleep. Not to mention, wake up an hour later and the score is usually the same. I have missed a couple games over the years where one team really beat the pants off the other team, but either I was at work or not home. But, I'm really not that much in to base ball. That was ruined when they had their strike. It was no longer about the competition, is was all about the money. When greed takes over, no matter what sport it is, it;s ruined for me. I just root for Boston as it's a close to home team. My Grammy use to root for the Braves,, as the Braves back in her day was the Boston team.

I like to watch BB. I can read as it is so slow.
With HD TV it's interesting to watch the fans.
Stadiums like the NY Yankees and Boston have are interesting...Boston for its history.

I am not a tv baseball fan I will watch sometimes but nothing compares with sitting in the stands with a dog and a cold one!!

With all teams having played more than half of their scheduled games and the All-Star game 9 days away, here are the magic numbers for all six division leaders: NYY - 73 Min - 73 Hou - 74 Atl - 73 ChC - 79 LAD - 68
Wonder how many will hold up...we shall see

Magic numbers as of end of play on 7/22: NYY - 53 Min - 61 Hou - 54 Atl - 57 ChC - 62 LAD - 46
Since my last post, the Dodgers and Twins reduced their magic numbers the most, decreasing by 22. The magic number for the Braves decreased the least, by only 16. The largest divisional lead in MLB belongs to the Dodgers. They lead their division by 15.5 games. The cubs own the smallest lead, 1.5 games over the St. Louis Cardinals. There will be some close races over the last 3+ months of the season. Stay tuned!

My ChiSox not even doing well by a longshot. But I'm siding with the Brewers, though as they're trying to knock the Cubs out of the 1st place seat.

The rule of thumb in baseball is every team will win 1/3 of its games and lose 1/3 of its games. It's what they do with the other third of its games that determines their success or failure. The Orioles haven't won 1/3 of the games they've played so far. That's a bad season.
